Emergency hospital stay.
Added 2021-07-16 03:04:31 +0000 UTCSo for anybody who's been following the announcements on discord will know I've been feeling pretty under the weather putting it mildly for the past two weeks. Now about a week ago, things started to get a fair bit rougher, and I had a real big scare yesterday morning, during which I decided I needed to take this to the ER. They ran some tests, came back and basically told me that I had fluid around my heart and it was enough to make the heart not work good, so we're going to helivac you over to this other hospital where they can properly drain that. (The high point of the day tbh)o for anybody who's been following the announcements here will know I've been feeling pretty under the weather putting it mildly for the past two weeks. (The high point of the day tbh) I had to have a drain put in and on the first day we drained off about 1100cc of fluid from around my heart. With another 150cc in the morning. Now there was also apparently a "moderate" amount of fluid in my one lung which also needed to be drained off, so that was my morning today. (Another 800cc of fluid, 2050cc total, which for reference, is two 1L bottles of resin xD)
Now I'm still in the hospital, waiting for a ton of blood work and tests to come back so we can figure out what actually caused this as we're not really 100% on that.
TL:DR fluid in heart and lungs, needed to be removed ASAP, extended hospital stay for Pipes.
Now for the patreon stuff. I'm going to be using the rest of July to recover from this (and I'm hoping that's all this takes.) So I won't have anything new for you guys this month and I'm really sorry about that. Next month I'm gonna move the schedule around a bit and run the all things drone month, because that's a bit more light hearted to work myself back into it. That said I really hate that I don't have anything new so I wanted to see if you guys could think of an alternative (doing a run of older models or something like that? I'm open to suggestions) While I'm doing the whole recovery thing.
I'm ok, and I don't think I'm personally in any danger at this point too, so I'm just gonna rest and get better, and hope the hospital gives me some good news tomorrow~

2021-07-29 06:04:19 +0000 UTCStill wishing you the best and hoping all is well! Would love access to older models, perhaps we can do that next month? Especially if we got access to maybe first and second release I bet a ton of people would be HAPPY!

2021-07-17 00:29:56 +0000 UTCHope they find out what caused it. Feel better soon. As I'm a new sub this month I feel like I got a lot with the beluga and drones, also the 50% was great for getting all the older stuff I missed, so I feel like I got my months worth for what it's worth. Would love more drones as long as it doesn't interfere with recovery.

2021-07-16 23:55:34 +0000 UTCHope they find the cause. Whatever works for you. I am new so don’t mind older stuff showing back up. Others probably won’t be as happy. Just rest and recover tho

2021-07-16 22:45:12 +0000 UTCGet well soon. For me it is okay if you make a month with out reward (or a small symbolic one) to help cover the hospital cost if your insurance is not enough ( and even it is, we support an artist not do shopping)

2021-07-16 16:01:34 +0000 UTCLove your work and I’m happy to continue to support you while you get better. Don’t care if I get new stuff next month. That said, if you are up for it then more bits (hands, swords, a two handed spear, base bits etc) would be awesome. My son loves the shield drone ‘shields’ (the bits that are to be printed in clear or semi clear resin and look like the energy shield part). More of those with small explosions would look great. Most importantly get well.

2021-07-16 15:45:07 +0000 UTCOh blimey, aye that sure is scary :O Don't you worry about us, your health is way more important than us getting to play with toy soldiers (even if they are as super awesomely sculpted as yours :P ). As suggested above, if you can afford it, consider pausing billing subscriptions for next month (any new patrons can just get this month's Beluga), and just focus on resting up and getting back to 'normal' (whatever that is these days...). Otherwise... some suggestions: - Drones are always going to be a fan favourite, so you'd be onto a winner there for sure - Andrew's idea above of just some awesome little fun conversion parts for various suits is great! - On the same vein... weapon FX, like missiles (+smoke) being fired, plasma+railgun shots etc etc, and engine burn... that kinda thing... it all adds character to our models :D But yes, you focus on getting back on your feet! Wish you a speedy recovery AirHugs <3

2021-07-16 13:04:33 +0000 UTCYour work is fantastic, I'm not going anywhere regardless of what comes or doesn't come this month. As everyone else has stated your health is the number one priority, make sure you rest up and get better. All the new members I am sure would be thrilled with getting a re-release of a previous model and all the long standing patreons will just want you to look after yourself and get better. Sending you all the best.

2021-07-16 09:12:50 +0000 UTCThat sounds really scary but it’s good to know that you haven’t lost your humor (2l of Resin :D) Get well soon and if recovering gets a little boring use the energy to to chose an older model to re-release for us new Patreon’s. Luke’s cross promotion idea is also worth considering. Anyway, don’t rush it. All the best to you!

2021-07-16 08:19:46 +0000 UTCWhile we are here for models originally I'm sure that most of the long term patreons would agree that your health is more important as we want to see you well enough to finish your range. Normally a patreon will pause a subscription if they couldn't put out any content but knowing that this is now your main income my suggestion would be re releasing your old replaced models so that new people have them. Personally I'm happy to give you a pass this month and continue supporting you regardless. I doubt you will be well enough to do anything and appreciate that, but if you wanted to put anything out maybe do some light work like bonus bits such as cat ears, hands, weapons and shields, random bits to add to bases... you know the fluff that we all love to make interesting poses. Again these are not important and your health is the main thing, its purely a suggestion if you want to put out anything small but only if your health allows it the last few days of the month. Hope that you feel better soon and take care of yourself.

2021-07-16 07:54:42 +0000 UTCDon't rush yourself back, take the time you need to recover, everyone will understand.

2021-07-16 07:05:26 +0000 UTCI was just telling a friend about you and how he should support your Patreon. In a year I've spent a pittance and I've got enough models to build several armies. I'm so happy with what I've gotten. Take care of yourself! Get well soon my friend.

2021-07-16 03:52:36 +0000 UTCPrioritize rest. If the month feels light or rest takes longer than you are comfortable with chat up some other modelers doing work in the same “sphere” of inspiration and do some model swaps to fill in and cross promote. The community on Patreon seems pretty willing to back each other up in situations like this.

2021-07-16 03:08:36 +0000 UTCHoly cow that’s scary. I’ve known a couple people who had a similar fluid buildup around their heart from an infection. Luckily it was cleared up and they are fine now - hoping the same for you! Can’t speak for everyone else but I think you should just rest and recover and not worry about the release. But - if you do go with a re-release of a previous model, I think there a great many of the new folks who don’t have the sturgeon yet.
