I remember buying the first model of the Dyson vacuum. It was big, yellow, and looked like one of the Transformers. But that thing could pick up dirt and dust like none other. I loved that vacuum but sadly I had to leave it behind when I moved apartments at one point. That was years ago (note the italics). And just to remind me how long ago that was, I ran into the same vacuum model at the Cooper Hewitt Museum. Apparently that vacuum was so ground breaking that it made it into a museum.😅
The Cooper Hewitt is way underrated. It’s small compared to your Met or MoMa, but it has its charm. Its exhibits are mostly around industrial and commercial design. This is great for those that appreciate the design of everyday things.
If you’ve exhausted all the popular museums and you’re down to the boutique ones, make sure to have Cooper Hewitt on top of that list.
