2023-03-19 22:55:21 +0000 UTCI've seen both nail salons and barbers in vans operate in NYC too. I think it has to do with avoiding rent and expanding their reach for customers. They usually have a schedule online so people know where they'll be on certain days. I didn't know that model is happening outside NYC as well.

My wife has seen them load up in the van after the shop closes... and not just at one place either. Hair salons don't work that way but nail salons certainly do.
