Lol Rehan Tears Anyone?

Fun fact: Rehan is not at all integral to the “plot” of the story he features in. He is extremely self-indulgent and I have no regrets on complicating my life and the story to accommodate my unstable vampire son.

Ok so, how shall I go about weaving this sad mister into the story? I was thinking about it while washing dishes today, and I think I found a great way to bring him in. It will probably be at around the time Assorra and Sora find a way to weave their two personalities together somehow, and Assorra goes out on a trip or something or the other bc //emotional exhaustion from integrating an entire other person into yourself// and she hears of a vampire that had devastated that area recently, and against her better judgement she goes to check out wtf is happening and they meet.

More likely than not, Assorra recognizes that at the very core of this rampage, this is just an overly lonely vampire with no real way of escaping his immortality. And she says something to that effect. Probably very mean, cutting but TRUE things, just like the original Assorra would. And Rehan is so stunned from having his truths so blatantly stated that he finally truly breaks down in a heap of bloody tears. Normally he will break down after a very long time and on his own after ruminating and torturing himself with his thoughts but this time, Assorra assisted him. It’s a bit like dealing with a boil. Sometimes it hurts like hell but you’re too scared to press it and make it hurt even more even though you know that temporary but intense pain will give way to relief. Assorra was the one that pressed that boil and forced Rehan to come face to face this time with his reality (until its time for it to overwhelm him again lol)

And in doing so, registered herself on his radar. In his eyes, he pinned strange hopes that she would somehow stop these overwhelming feelings of loneliness and anguish. It’s irrational reasoning, but that’s what he ends up clinging to and decides that he will stay by Assorra’s side. Just like that, Assorra has unwittingly (or is it really unwittingly? 👀) gained an ally of sorts.
