I drew… and (barely) showed… some titties!!

I say that cos I draw boobs all the time but you see, in my head everyone sees me as a nun that may pass out if I see even a sliver of titty. I have spent too many years cultivating a SFW and now I can’t post any even mildly nsfw shit ever. I’ll work on that tho. Stay tuned ;)

Anyway, let’s talk about Asta in this AU. One thing that Astarte fears more than even death, is falling into a cycle that they feel … they’ve been set up for. They’ve spent most of their life RUNNING from something they feel everyone is expecting of them. Their mother is a courtesan so everyone believed—and even waited EAGERLY— for them to follow their mom’s footsteps. Why do they feel that? Well, cos they look exactly like their mother. In fact it’ll be better for them since they wouldn’t have to start from the very bottom like their mother did. Hearing people say this to them was terrifying. Horrifying. Because it confused them greatly. What it is they saw was that their mother was both desired and despised. Exalted yet disrespected.

So they just… ran away. When they were 15 or so, they took a few clothes and ran to a different town, purposefully wore clothes that were more masculine and was distant to people because they didn’t want anyone to notice them. Always covered their hair when they were out and about because it’s red, and it’s as red as their mother’s. I guess the long story short is that Asta is running away from their mother in a way. They do not hate her or even think of what she does negatively. Asta gets it. What they can’t cope with is this eagerness for them to become just like their mother.

All that to say is that they DO manage to escape this idea for a long time. Until some time in their 24th year when everything goes horribly wrong as they were enjoying their life with other people.

I should probably explain more. I really should!! Cos there are two parts to this AU. Part 1 is when Asta and Erasyl meet and they spend a month or two traveling on their way to a seaside town. And part 2 is three years after their travel ends, when Erasyl comes back to that town to look for Asta to fulfil a promise of seeing each other again after 3 years. It’s after that time gap that everything went sideways. In both their lives but Erasyl has this way of taking things in stride, plus there weren’t too many situations that affected him as personally and as deeply
