“I think about death a lot”

I know I always draw June happy—and for the most part she is— but her happiness isn’t derived from naïveté or ignorance about what the world and people are really like. She isn’t some silly sheltered girl who just doesn’t know better yet. Arguable she knows a little too much lol, but the whole point IS! There are indeed reasons why June CHOOSES to be happy. Because it’s very much an active choice on her part. She’s worked on the ability to wake up and find small things to be happy about for years and years now, so much so that it’s second nature, but it was still a skill she sharpened.
Of course, her determination to be happy… frankly does bring up some concerns because of how she may act when situations that do not bring joy are presented to her but we will get there when we get there lol

Oh I really like this! It's certainly more fun to live each day looking for the beautiful little things than to concentrate on what annoys us. 😅
