Character Vlog: Where I Have Worked

In response to multiple requests over the years, here is my restaurant experience! Did you ever work or eat at any of these spots?

Comments

I need to hear more about Carrabas

Sydney

I’m glad you had great management at one of the places you worked. You and Andrea worked Boneyard together? That’s so cool.

Merri533

I once worked at Arbys for 3 days in HS to fund a Rainbow Festival trip :P

Turtle Whacks

Agreed. The whole album was below par because they had to create it too fast

Wendy Morganthau

Okay but we need a story about the Carraba’s for two days please 🤣🤣 I work at Outback Steakhouse and my discount applies to Carrabas as well

Diana Carpenter

Never been to any of those places but Chef Brock is on some shows I've seen. He seems like he would be a great but intense boss.

Princess

The worst DD tune ever…

Wendy Morganthau

I’ve been to both those O’Charley’s in TN lol

London Night Jazz

The Reflex 😜

London Night Jazz

Yes I actually live just 45 mins from Nashville. Man I bet working for the Beverly Hilton was really good money!!

christina hankins

There's one by me in Northern Kentucky and it was my favorite place for years 20 years ago but now we don't bother with it 😫😫😫 I'm always surprised it's still open.

Annie Driscoll

Drew, I worked at the O’Charley’s in Franklin in 1996! Before that in high school I helped to open the first Waffle House in Columbia. Other places I’ve worked include the Brooklyn in downtown Seattle and a variety of places on Lake Pend Oreille in Sandpoint Idaho. I love your work and love that we have common roots! Oh yeah, I also worked in a restaurant on top of a mountain at a ski resort. Rode the chairlift to work and skied down after my shift.

Annette

THank you for sharing!

Narda Wakoluk

So, you are 38?39?

Sassymomma

Drew! We worked at Coogies together! I love your channel! Congrats

Kate Mulder

Hungry Cat -- did you work in Santa Monica or the Hollywood location? Sadly they closed a while back.

Rebbie

OMG I worked at Country Kitchen in the early 90s. Ours was right across the street from a country like dancing bar (remember that trend) and they would flood us after the bar closed. 😂

Angie Kritenbrink

Yep, it's where the Golden Globes are always hosted.

Drew Talbert

Haha it didn't work out

Drew Talbert

Wow!

Drew Talbert

Bummer! That loaded potato soup was good!

Drew Talbert

All I did was counter at McDonald’s when I was 15, needed money for Duran Duran records. Slipped on grease and fell on my ass delivering a double cheeseburger, hid in the walk-in when a woman ordered 25 Big Macs during dinner rush. But I hit a cool record convention near Chicago after my months of work to start my collection! I still have them to this day, I’m 56.

Wendy Morganthau

Whoa! That's quite the resume... I'm from the Midwest so I'm not familiar with any of those establishments. I waitressed through hs, college, grad school & my first 5 years teaching at one establishment, but by the time I was finished it felt like I had worked at several more. The owner kept expanding. He went from a very small, pizzaria with only 2 waitresses per shift to a full blown fine dining Italian restaurant with valet service. (lol)

Genie

In all fairness, the last manager I worked for was pretty decent, but the damage was done. Ever see an abused animal trying to be rescued? That was me.😔

Gwen

This was actually not part of that chain. It was spelled Capitol. It was a one-off place in this swanky hotel. I’ve never been to a Capital Grill!

Drew Talbert

All the O Charlie's near me are going out of business and I hate it.

Lisa

I know Carrabba's 😂

Ken Forman

10 years at Capital Grille. Severe ptsd from one of our managers who embraced a shame based style. Almost every server over 40 was fired during his tenure and as a female over 40 I was told, “ do you know how hard it is for someone your age to find a job like this?.” In a much better place now. But it did take about three years to not flinch when a manager said my name.

Gwen

Round, round, get-around, you got around...I had one server/short order cook job. I swore, NEVER AGAIN. Never have, but it did teach me a lot about human nature, and making fixing for a meal stretch.

L. Shannon Carter

I know of Blimpie’s. But I’m from the Midwest. Started working at A&W when I was 15 years old (1993), then a waitress at Country Kitchen, then Little Caesar’s until I went to college. Little Caesar’s was my favorite job. I love pizza!

Jennifer Wells

I love the "went to work somewhere for two days then went back to my old job" 😂 that's so what I remember from restaurant work😂

Angie Kritenbrink

I'm familiar with Blimpie and O'Charleys, (not those specific locations tho), and I've heard of the Beverly Hilton hotel.

Adam T. Berns

Love capital grill!!
