Hope that everyone's doing well, here is our plan for the next few months, and also NEWS!

Oh, and the Lilies' daggers is a brilliant touch!

Nick Ortega

I have absolutely enjoyed and marveled at the evolution of this story from shorts to drafts to ARC... Don't sell yourself short, you apparently have all the fortitude required! As an aspiring (but admittedly cowardly) author, who had yet to write anything longer than 5000 words for public viewing, I salute you and your efforts, and live vicariously through your suffering and your success. Tally Ho!

Nick Ortega

I have never heard of Mablethorpe but it's an AMAZING place name

Jill Bearup

Five years, even with annual clear-outs, is still going to be a challenge, I think :S

Jill Bearup

International moves are...a whole other ball game. Done it twice, not keen to repeat the experience!

Jill Bearup

Thank you! :)

Jill Bearup

200 miles from Kent - Let the guessing begin! Paris? Sheffield? Cardiff? Axmouth? St Anne? Mablethorpe?

Ekij

For legal reasons I cannot answer that :P

Jill Bearup

I feel your pain. It's a weird world when it's easier to find something randomly on the whole internet than it is to find where your browser has downloaded it to on your PC.

Ekij

I moved house to the other side of the planet at the start of 2023 and hope not to have to do anything like that again for at LEAST a decade. Locally maybe, in a few years. International logistics are in fact their own full time endeavour.

Natalie Arnold

Good luck!

I have to ask - which organised crime gang πŸ₯· or rogue nation πŸ•΅οΈ are you on the run from? (For obvious reasons πŸ˜‰ I'm not going to believe any answer you might give!)

Dave Sheddi

Yes, once the final round of editing is done probably! I hope it’ll be out at the same time as the physical book but if not, it will be on its way 😁

Jill Bearup

Are you recording the book? Because I can't imagine a different voice.

Nathan Davis

Good job working ahead! I have to do this every year for an event I organize in the spring and... I never feel very accomplished about it because it's the bare minimum to getting it done, but it is an accomplishment when you're able to think ahead that far so you don't end up in crisis. Good job. Good adulting and managing your obligations.

Eva Schiffer

In my case, Air Force brat. There was one stretch where we moved every year for four years. The worst of it was that thanks to Dad's specialization, we were never stationed outside the U.S.

Aimee King

Finally finished reading the latest version in between adulting stuff. My favorite bit is the addition of Rosamund's necklace. Very nice touch. Moving!! I grew up a military brat, married a guy in the military so I spent a good hunk of my life moving every couple of years or so. Advice? Start getting things organized and gone through as soon as you can, which it seems you're already doing.

Donna Flood

Ah! Moving buddies! Makes me feel a little better about having to move next year too... and that I had to reduce my sub to have a chance of doing it successfully. :( moving sucks. Anyway, good luck on 'your' move... Kent will miss you. looking forward to the cover reveal. I loved the most recent version of the book and can't wait to hold the finished paperback in my hands... once I have completed my own move... or possibly before, depending on how the dates align.

Berthulf

I moved every 2-3 years, then stopped for 19 years. How to move came back easily, how to de-clutter 19 years of detritus was... not easy.

Allan West

Whenever people want to move they borrow my furniture moving straps and appliance moving straps. The best $20 I ever spent. Excited about the book, also excited to see some different content!

What If Brigade

Univrsity brats, their parents hopping from uni to uni.

Anders

Moving. I always LOVE the concept of moving into a new place but the mechanics are a reeaaaalll drag. After my busy weekend, I completely forgot I have a new version of One Crisi...oh. um. Just Stab Me Now? Yes! Looking forward to reading it as soon as I find where my computer hides files that I've downloaded! Take care, Jill. We love you whatever you are doing, wherever you are doing it!!!

Ann Brookens

Thank you, I really appreciate it :) At some point after everything is published I will probably go back and read all the earlier versions for curiosity's sake. I have two versions fully printed out in a lever arch file, and one of them is from back when I still had the Administrator as a character. So that wasn't yesterday XD

Jill Bearup

Loved the last version, looking forward to the next; it'll be interesting to track the changes. Also - as a veteran of many, MANY moves: stock up on chocolate, your beverage of choice, and your favorite music! And embrace the fact that there will probably be at least one box of stuff that ends up shoved into a forgotten nook in the new place & won't be found for months. (And if you have cats, they probably won't forgive you for a while. Dogs seem to be better at going with the flow.)
