Come see my beautiful knife I made!

Welcome to the extended version of the knife video, I hope you enjoy it, because the editing was a solid gold nightmare but I had such a great time blacksmithing that I'm totally willing to have another go in the future...

Come see my beautiful knife I made!

I currently hand off about half of my editing to my Roving Editor, but this was a huge amount of footage and had no clear script or throughline until I found one by watching it all :D

Well done!

Jerry

Great video! Thank you! You're so cool!

Jim Sanderson

Your knife is indeed a thing of beauty. I'm so glad you quenched to martensite at the end, as that is one of the very few things I remember from my metallurgy labs!

It's strange where these places are, I got my chainmail made in Eastborn (not sure that place is still there) and you went to Margate to make a knife, neither of those places strike me as the sort. I would also take orc knife as a compliment, it looks awesome in my opinion and yet it has an orcish nature

Cynical Rhys

You could just post it back to yourself

It's fantastic. You should have alot of pride in it. Hubby and I watch a show on the History Channel (I know, I know 'History' channel) called Forged in Fire. It's a knife and weapon making competition that shows the same methods etc. that you used. It's cool to see it all in real life action. Congrats!

I wanna make a knife! ...maybe if I was your age, I'd do it. You absolutely have to do this again and perfect your technique...on a sword!!!!

Ann Brookens

I thought you had a mercenary editor? A little disappointed that you didn't do the final test thing where you strike the anvil and the anvil shatters. Hoping for that when you make your sword. The TSA apparently has Thoughts about knives on planes, and they are not alone. Sadly. (I suppose hold baggage is always a possibility)

Jill Bearup

That is a rather spectacular knife. New merch ideas? Custom blades for Patrons! Though there maaaay be some issues with shipping and receiving...

Andrew Michael

That was a fun show! Rightfully proud you are, making things is intensive and to be admired, and getting something like what you wanted is a lovely bonus! We were talking the other day about possible places to visit in England, maybe Spike's workshop will have to go onto the list. But I don't think they would like us flying back with new weapons... Hm. And now Youtubes is recommending Overly Sarcastic history summarized.
