The way they mirrored the one hand/unbothered, two hands/it just got real detail in Kenobi is really, really lovely. Kenobi also did an excellent job of showing how utterly terrifying Darth Vader is when he really wants to hurt someone. The scene on Jabiim has the same cat-and-mouse feel as Bespin, but that fight so much darker because Vader doesn't want to recruit Obit-Wan. He wants to break him.

2023-05-27 22:32:27 +0000 UTCLate to the party, but I feel one of the most important aspects of this fight is the scene between The Emperor and Vader leading into this duel. Vader is functionally pleading with Palpatine not to take his son the way he took Anakin. Vader even plays dumb about it. He knows Luke is Anakin's son, he calls Luke "Skywalker" earlier in the film. "He's just a boy. Obi-Wan can no longer help him." And Anakin has only ever wanted one thing: connection. His mother, Padmé, Ahsoka, Obi-Wan, he wants relationships. And now he has an opportunity to have a relationship with his son. When you have all that context Vader's side of the duel is as tragic as it is terrifying.
