More progress!

I have to say, the foam armour (still in progress) is not quite as impressive looking as the velvet surcoat and actually metal hauberk. BUT should I ever need to do a “Minerva McGonagall Battle Outfit I feel I have the hat design sorted!

Also included: The Virgin in Armour, which is a painting of Joan of Arc that this costume is based off.

I’m on holiday now for a little while, but I will be back in August with some new videos, and I hope you have a lovely couple of weeks. See you soon!

More progress! More progress! More progress!

The armor parts probably will get straps. In the painting, the straps are dark on dark, you can just see the metal fittings.

Headgear with lots of brim was popular with archers and pikers--they protect from arrows. Not so popular for close-up work though, too easy to get your head grappled off.

I hope that you enjoy your holiday

I think you're doing an excellent job replicating the illustration! On the other hand, how is that odd floating breastplate supporting itself??? Have a lovely vacation and I hope you find some air-conditioning to provide relief from the heat wave!

well done! I think it bears (Bearup!) MORE than a passing resemblance to the painting! Can't wait until it's finished

Ohh, what a cool reconstruction choice!! (also kudos for the persuasion poster on your wall!)

And I love how she's living her dress to show off her sabatons

Excellent description 😂 Mine has currently got unfortunate nipple plate but I’m hoping to fix that before I have to wear it!

That painting of Joan of Arc is really suspect. The bump on the plate isn't "boob plate" or even "I just had a HUGE dinner plate". It looks more like "I'm making space for the Zenomorph from Alien plate". So your amour looks better than the pic it's based on.
