Added 2024-05-20 04:54:04 +0000 UTCNot particularly early, since I just finished it five minutes ago, but I hope you enjoy :)

You know what, I never saw this movie... and now I want to! To be fair, it's been in my "things I should have watched" list for a few years, and I can't even remember why I never saw it as a kid, but now I have added incentive. πππ

2024-05-21 10:30:40 +0000 UTCLegally speaking, so long as the source material is not under copyright, yes. The problem with copyright is that different countries have different laws surrounding it, so they don't always line up for international release, but where that isn't an issue...

2024-05-21 10:28:32 +0000 UTCI meant that I would like to see the video of where your inspiration came from. Sorry.

2024-05-21 09:10:21 +0000 UTCLoved this analysis! Haha, I love The Secret of NIMH and must have watched it a hundred times but didn't realize the similarities to your novel until you pointed it out. I'm like "π² So true! How did I not see that π" (Guess the title for this video does double work, hehe)

2024-05-21 03:58:40 +0000 UTCI'm still lobbying for some quarter-staff analysis. Come-on Jill. You keep teasing us with quick little snatches of you fighting with them, yet you never do anything about it. I would say that most of us know at least a little something about sword fighting (thanks to your efforts, in large part), but I would hazard a guess that most of us know next to nothing about the finer details of fighting with a quarterstaff. How about it?

2024-05-20 19:49:57 +0000 UTCI read NIMH right after I graduated from high school and loved. I know I read it several times and I watched the movie with my kids but I really don't remember very much of it! The basic storyline, yes, but definitely not the sword fight!

2024-05-20 17:04:22 +0000 UTCDoes this mean animators could grab an entire fight from Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan and plug it in shot for shot? Because I'd watch that anime!

2024-05-20 13:47:38 +0000 UTCI didn't know there was a movie! I'd read Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH, and it looks like they stuck very closely to the book in many ways (excluding the magical amulet, which doesn't exist, and Jenner being still in the rosebush rather than a part of its past), and I read Racso and the Rats of NIMH, which let me know for sure whether or not Justin was still alive. I need to add the movie to my watch list.

2024-05-20 13:04:33 +0000 UTCLoved The Secret of NIMH. The book was so different, have you ever read it? (Also, it looks like that at 8:26-8:32 the movie clips are both Robin Hood, I wasn't sure if that was intentional?)
