This is the state of the AAA games industry. Thank your lucky Super Stars for Nintendo.

That was a great review. I'm glad you spoke out against this trend and backed it up with that review score

The damage is done and the trust has been abused. EA wil push us as far as they think they can, then act like they are catering to us when everyone hates there choices. Game looks really fun I will never play it.

Once EA have figured out what kind of 'monetization' they have beyond the 60 dollar price tag I'll haven't a look at this again.

Awesome review Huber.

I know I’m going to be in the minority on this big time & expect tons of hate, but I’m really enjoying the multiplayer of this game. Haven’t started campaign so can’t have a comment. Yes, the loot crate system sucks & progression feels slow, but the actual minute to minute gameplay of Galactic Assault (20v20) or Starfighter Assault is sooooo good! The game is beautiful, the sound is top notch, & the gunplay is solid. I really hope they can overhaul the progression system (even just rewarding more credits for matches or milestones would go a long way towards fixing it. Because I could potentially see myself playing this game for a long time. And no, I never had the plan on nor will I ever be buying loot crates. I’ve been really disappointed in most reviews/podcasts I’ve listened to that barely even talk about the main multiplayer modes. They touch on it here & there, but focus on the story & loot crate issue. Yes, the crates need to be discussed & heavily criticized, but if you barely touch on the bulk of what this game is, and that’s the main MP modes, I think a disservice is being done. And this has happened with so many outlets tbh.

Thank you guys for being honest and willing to be critical of a A+ franchise. I wasn't going to buy this due to the mishandling of after purchase transactions that hide many features behind a "pay and you win" wall. Even with all the back peddling and community appologies do not compensate for the implementation of such a greedy development or production choice. For both the producer EA and The developer DICE to agree to such a tone deaf creation of a full price game is evidence of terrible communication with their consumers. For EA it's par for the course, but for DICE you should know better by now (Battlefield).

I was afraid of this, even though the microtransactions are gone temporarily, the multiplayer progression is still compromised by lootbox pay to win (even if it is fake money) I want so badly to play a quality star wars game, but I will not support this game with money unless they fix that aspect. EA makes activision look saintly.

Glad to see you're cracking down on this. A slapped together single player campaign and the worst multiplayer progression system of all time can't be allowed a good score no matter how good it looks and sounds. The game part of the game seems utterly terrible. I guess they were looking how far they could push profits before players would notice and draw the line. Well this is it.
