Sea of Thieves - Review

Purely out of curiosity, not critique; Did you change anything on your sound capture? It sounds every so slightly different.

Just recently started the 14 day trial and quite honestly, we’re glad we didn’t buy the game. To be fair, we played it mostly solo but the lack of content and direction was staggeringly obvious. The water sure does look pretty though.

I enjoyed the game mainly because there is almost no none sci fi pirate games around. But the level of content is baffling for the development time of this game. It’s worth it on gamer pass as long as your enjoying it. My hope is content was withheld from release. Too make content updates meaty and often. If this is not the case I honestly don’t understand where the last year of development went.

Was also hoping for a seven given the strong base this game has, but given how bad the Merchant Faction quests are I don't blame Brad for sinking slightly below that. Least the review is fair, unlike the Youtube comments eager and happy to thrash the game since the internet has collectively decided to hate this game, ignoring the good points and spreading misinformation about what's included to make it seem worse than it actually is.

Could not sell my friends on this game, will probably just play monster Hunter instead, when it hits the PC.

I mean i'm almost 2 weeks in to playing for a couple of hours almost every night both alone and with friends and i'm still absolutely captivated by it. Brad is right in every point, but I guess it's one of those games where the fun comes from the crazy stuff you can do with the fairly 'bare bones' system. I've come away from every night with a legitimate "pirate story" that I cant wait to tell my brother who is playing with another crew. There wasn't much mention in the review of the visuals as well. At times, this is hands down one of the best looking games ever made. Some of the vistas are awe inspiring. It's a shame to see the Sea of Thieves isn't part of a Sea of Sevens, but it's a fair score. I'm still having a blast.

Yeah, it's a shame mostly for XBox players, all signs pointed to this being an amazing exclusive for the system :/ you have to keep in mind though that developers are groups of people (not just some entity that games pop out of) and the people that made Rare great left in, like, 2006.
