Hey--just saw your comment. Thanks! Will check this out.

Took me a while to realize Kyles shirt said Nick Jr. and not Dick Jr.

Joey and Cait

25 grew up playing spyro 1 and 2

Just got to the L&R question about how to express your love of gaming if you're in prison, Jones' comment reminded me of an article I read recently about tabletop games in prisons, here's the link to waypoint if anyone's interested: https://waypoint.vice.com/en_us/article/padk7z/how-inmates-play-tabletop-rpgs-in-prisons-where-dice-are-contraband - fascinating stuff

My goal for the year was to get Bubble Bobble mentioned on an EZA Podcast. Mission Accomplished! L&R

Tyler Travis

I'm also 30. Let's bring those arguments back! Banjo is so much better than Spyro.

Andrew Chalmers

Cosigned. If they want to try it for free it's not like they can't try it on youtube later anyway. Early access is for backers, baby.

Raven Perez

Jones and I are a few days apart in age. I was thinking exactly the same thing when Mike was talking about being young in '98'. "19.... 19 years old in 1998"... yup. Next year is the big one for us Brandon.

September is a beautiful month. I loved Spyro back in the day. Got and enjoyed Riptos Rage and Year of the Dragon at age 10 (currently 28) Didn't play the original until PS3. Played through and 100%'d all 3 shortly after Crash last year. Still amazing!

Jordan Kirk

Not to stir up crap but Kyle suggesting people share the early access podcast link was absolutely buckwild to me. Getting the podcast early is literally the ONLY reason I subscribe via patron and the idea of them suggesting people just give it out freely was almost offensive to me and my wallet.

I am 29 years old and I LOVED Spyro as a kid. One of my favorite rentals from Blockbuster. Super pumped for the remaster.

If anyone wants more info on Radical Heights before jumping in, Eurogamer made a breakdown video on their channel. Seems like it has potential.

Michael Brigham

No mention of Pokemon Past & Future? I guess it isn't really a new game announcement, but it's a new title announcement. I thought Kyle would have something to say, even if there was barely anything shown

WisconsinKnight

Number + Title please. It felt epic and added another layer to the podcast. But as always, great episode, felt like Huber/Damiani was at their best. Love and respect, will give you guys money forever. ❤️

I guess y'all filmed before the Inside Xbox episode and all the back compatible announcements. I would have loved to seen the panels reaction to Red Dead in 4K. Now when you get a chance to discuss it it'll be a week old. Stuff like this is why I suggest having a shorter news-type production at least a couple times a week so your views on breaking news can be heard in a timely manner. Maybe Mon/wed/fri?

I'm actually quite surprised by how positive the allies were to Radical Heights. I know it's still in early access but the the games art style looks totally dreadful to me. And the color pallet and cartoony style is waaay to close to Fortnite to really stand out. Why play this if i can play Fortnite for free? The Darwin Project (wich i wont play either looks way better imo. It's sad but I predict it will crash and burn even worse than Lawbreakers.

I'm 30, and I think Spyro was a bigger deal for kids of my generation who didn't own a N64. Growing up, there was a BIG rivalry between PlayStation and Nintendo owners, and I clearly remember debating Spyro vs. Banjo-Kazooie on the playground in the late '90s. More specifically, I recall personally making fun of the stupid voices in Banjo-Kazooie when arguing why Spyro was better. That opinion still stands.

Damiani bringing back the troll bet. Nice work. #neverforget

MINOR CORRECTION Sypro gets a light flutter that boosts him just a bit more. Noticeable enough to almost be a double jump. Can be used out of glide. P.S. Spyro is a great game that was RIGHT in my wheelhouse for my age. I'm 25 now... But at the time I was 6. Legendary to young me. Still fun today.

Miss the thumbnail :-(

Just thought I'd link this nice little documentary from Vice - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kDseTCNGyA Relates to "Cloistrus" (sp?) awesome question in love and respect.

KYLE! I AM 23, and I ADORE SPYRO 2 and SPYRO 3. Those games are superior to Crash, Mario 64, and Banjo in MANY regards (music, aesthetic, characters, variety, ya know, everything). YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT in saying Activision turned me and other people my age off Spyro with the horrendous design they made for Skylanders. I played it for 5 minutes with my little brother before I had to stop. The disappointment of what the franchise became was too much. I was so disappointed in fact, that one of my first Photoshop efforts EVER was making an abomination of a signature back on the GT Forums that showed the old and beautiful PS1 Spyro design, then the scary awful Skylanders design with the caption "ACTIVISION KILLED YOU". I like to imagine I've grown up since that...

MP = Metroid Prime

Gerred Evatt

Also, I think SM works for modern Super Mario games because they are not called Super Mario Bros Galaxy and Super Mario Bros Odyssey.

Ian Alexander

Well, I think my game works better when its, discontinue the franchise or give it a 10/10 sequel... but at least it was still entertaining. Damiani didn't get why I was using those acronyms though, because that wasn't the original intent. Thanks for playing, anyway!

Ian Alexander

AC = Armored Core.

Folks were happy with the Crash trilogy. The main issue was, the first game had always been excruciatingly hard for people (and it got made a bit harder due to the changes in hitbox). People generally became big fans with the 2nd or 3rd title, and many even played those without ever having played the first. Myself included. That is where all the "ugh Crash" social media stuff came from. People going through the difficult first game for the first time or remembering how frustrating it was for them even back then. Personally though, I really enjoyed the difficulty, so much so that I even platinumed it and had to step back from playing 2 right after 1 because it was that much easier. Also, there was a lot of "Crash was never good" rhetoric happening due to the remnants of the PS1 vs N64 console wars (especially since he was the PS1 mascot at the time). Childish attitude towards the games from certain professionals and non-professionals alike.

SomeGameNews

I really respect Kyle for actually taking a look at Spyro's history. As someone 4-5 years younger than them (and apparently every other gaming podcast) it was so frustrating to hear so many journalists talk about how Crash was gonna fail and that it was just a meme. Like if they didn't play it then it must be bad.

Sare

I did ask the team and the consensus was that it would too cluttered to have everything. Titles is the thing I decided to cut. I wasn't feeling the EZA Podcast benefitted from having titles. Always willing to change back however -Kyle

I find it odd that you can't have both a number, a unique thumbnail, and a subtitle on the title. It seems like a logical and simple thing to do. Perhaps the Allies feel that the title would be too cluttered if this happens?

jif52

Like that the number is back but I miss the spicy title. It made it very clickable.

Olf Himself

Yes! The numbering is back! I never could have predicted that there would be a point in my life where I get happy/excited over the numbering of a podcast, but here we are. lol

Love you guys.
