Easy Allies Podcast #108 - 4/18/18

Personally I really loved Playstation All Stars: Battle Royale. I had it on the vita and played it a TON. All of the characters really felt like they honored the games they were from (even Colonel Radec from Killzone). Spyro and Crash would of been neat, but honestly all of the heavy hitters of the Sony franchise were there (in my opinion). Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, Kratos, Nathan Drake, Cole MacGrath, they even had freakin PARAPPA DA RAPPER (looking at you Kyle). I agree they should do away with the "super kills" mechanic and make it more like Smash. But I don't agree with just waiving away characters, environments, or items that are part of the Sony legacy... just cause you didn't play/enjoy the game they are from (or you think their game isn't "relevant" anymore). Smash has a ton of obscure characters and references, which is what makes the game so fun. Granted I am a huge Sony fanboy, so my opinion is very biased... but if they want to do a Resistance level (a franchise that had 3 successful games to it), let them do a Resistance level gosh darnit! : )

Pro-Bird for sure. We used to have chickens, and watching those tiny dinosaurs run around the yard is a fun experience. Birds: I'm pro-birds. Had a girlfriend that also thought birds were super creepy, which I thought was odd then, and I think it's odd now.

CORRECTION: The "4.5 speed" is probably 4.5 seconds for a 40 yard dash. It's a very common benchmark of someone's speed, used in American football and Ultimate Frisbee.

The allies should time their 40 yard dashes.

CORRECTION: 4.5 Speed is most likely referring to his 40-yard dash time. This is considered very important for NFL Scouts. 4.5 is a very impressive speed for a man of his size.

Halo Anniversary was the other Halo release to feature the previous game’s multiplayer instead of its own. In this case though it was limited to the newly remade Halo CE maps (which could also be purchased separately); you needed Reach to access the full suite, unlike ODST which included the entirety of 3’s multiplayer features alongside its new maps.

I know. I kept asking Jones about this in COJ but never really got an answer to why they dropped the pink light. Ian said doing this podcast that one of the lights was off. Maybe that's why it looks like this again. Maybe it's a mistake.... But it looks som much better than normal. Way more professional. We have to make sure that they know this so they don't change it back.

Things that were once considered geeky tend to be considered the norm once time passes and people grow into them. Just look at Korean pop music, I had a friend who loved it for years and I thought it was very geeky and now its big all over the world and isn't considered as geeky as it once was.

Thank you for bringing that comforting glow of the pink light back. Thank you Damiani for encouraging Kyle talk about the loot boxes added to Animal Crossing Pocket Camp recently. Like Kyle said, I'm sure Nintendo is testing the waters for what people find acceptable, and I think every podcast and game news site that shows a negative reaction to this addition helps protect the future of the franchise in part and encourage a change for the mobile title. Isnt it interesting how the game you describe as the standart successful Sony franchise: story focues, companion character etc. is really, except that it was an FPS and that game was often lamented for being that, Bioshock Infinite? :)

Corrections: Halo 3 ODST had the Halo 3 Multiplayer, not Reach. Another series that did this was Uncharted: Lost Legacy had A Thief's End's multiplayer. 4.5 is how many seconds per 40 yards sprinted. For this example, this individual ran 40 yards in 4 and a half seconds.
