Cup of Jones - May 1, 2018

The hype and momentum at EZA has been growing lately. Here we are at the beginning of the month at our highest amount since we started this Patreon. We have to wait a few more days to see if all these charges go through, but even staying above $44K means lots of exciting new changes are coming to Easy Allies in May. I believe this positive trend is partly due to being able to react to the wants and needs of our community, and this show is one of the best places to do it. So thanks for watching and asking questions, everyone!

Mr Jones, Do you have a gaming achievement that you are particularly proud of? It does not have to be a platinum trophy or achievement, just something that you are proud of. Please regale us with a tale about how you accomplished this cherished feat. Morgan Mohalla

Morgan Mohalla

Hi, this is my first question in one of these things: Has there been any discussion within the allies to make two group streams a week, but with half the group on each?

Xenogod

Hi Jones, have the allies ever considered treating your twitch channel more like a TV one and airing your recorded shows live on twitch (alongside normal youtube release). Watching, for example, the eza podcast along with chat will add to the experience for many. Also it would plug some gaps in your schedule and make it easy to include the podcast highlights on easy allies clips. Good idea? Bad idea? Let me know what you think.

Dylan Wiggan

Mr Jones, What is you greatest gaming accomplishment? It doesn't have to be a trophy or achievement, just the thing you are most proud of.

Morgan Mohalla

Yo Jones! Personal Question; can someone truly love Fortnite if they are only playing the Battle Royale portion of the game? You've been playing the other half for a very good long time, do you find it annoying that randomly released BR version all-of-the-sudden got super popular? Annoying in the sense of like "oh, huh. I guess that's a thing now."

Dalink28

Hello Jones! I am a first time writer and patreon, you did it EZA you took my first ever patreon pledge as I could not remain in the sidelines any longer! My history with EZA is fairly new I found out about EZA when watching your reaction video to Death Stranding and so I was hooked, I had to watch your coverage of all the Sony presentation and shortly after I was consuming all your content without even knowing anything at all about your work back in GT. Since every video can be a viewer first video of EZA my question is what do you think is the most embarrasing video a new viewer can stumple upon? L&R

Business Question Disclaimer: I have made content on youtube and twitch for about 6-7 years. So I am very cautious about "complaining" about stuff, since I do not want to throw people under the bus. But I figured if I combine the criticism with a way to solve the problem, it should be fine. So I hope this is all good. I recently listend to the latest episode of Frame Trap and EZA Podcast back to back. Damiani was in both of the episodes. And while he is making completely valid points, it is hard to listen to him because he seems so disorganized in expressing them. There are so many "like" and "and stuff" in his speech pattern, that it - for the first time - distracted me while listening to the shows. It's one of those things that "can not be unheard". So in advance sorry to anybody that won't be unable to not hear it from now on. You you think it would be worth spending some money to have Allies takes classes under a speech or acting coach. I know this is what some other show hosts are doing to refine the way they express themselves. In my opinion this would really help, since a lot of your content is audio based. Love you guys. Kind regards Matthias (Ma-Tea-Us)

PrinnyTonic

Hi Jones! It was amazing to hear you talk about my name being at the end of the podcast! When I was the actual last name, I was tweeting it every month and people were following along! I think the streak went for around 9 or 10 months! So I hope you don't shuffle the order so I can maybe one day reclaim my throne! L&R to Culinary Stud tho :)

Hey Jones - you're right, Avatar is animated excellence. Similar to how Batman is your favorite, I actually personally prefer Korra due to its older characters and different overall tone. Hope you finish it some day! As for the claim that Avatar is the best work of animation of all time - I'm not gonna argue but I will say that Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood might give it a run for its money with even more emotional impact, intense action, and each character having a pretty intense character arc all within a similar condensed amount of episodes as Avatar's 3 seasons. Awesome show

Hi Brandon, i'm wondering, we're at 45.1k, Top 10 are not going to happen for the moment, but Spoiler Mode and Trailer Jones are happening, we are constantly listening that you're all busy with different stuff, but how is more money going to make more time for the allies to do a Top 10 a month or Spoiler Mode with at least 3 allies or Trailer Jones with Blood and Kyle, who's currently super busy with Box Peek, don't get me wrong, i would love more content, but doesn't concern all of you the over saturation of work... also... E3 is coming...

Daniel Garza Andrade

Hey Jones. I want to ask you about the Easy Allies Film Club. Early Access tier has ten times more patrons and the Community Showcase tier has twice as many. At the same time, the last Reaction Shots video got barely 3000 views on your main Youtube channel. How do you currently view the 7 dollar Patreon tier? Do you think it needs different and/or more rewards to make it more appealing to patrons? How would you feel about replacing Reaction Shots with different monthly show? If you ask me, these are the types of questions where a fan survey would come in handy. with Love and Respect Pekka Heinonen (Hey-noh-nen)

Hey Jones, For Context: I just completed my first play-through of GOW on Give Me God Of War mode( because if you name your difficulty the title of the game, I'm going to assume this is the intended way it was meant to be played!) and my experience has been much different from the consensus I have heard from most professional outlets. At the outset I hated Atreus, as I found his support to be mostly useless. His attacks did almost no damage and with the axe being so weak initially, I found myself overwhelmed, annoyed, and dying often in the opening combat encounters ( This is not the case on any other modes). However as the story progressed, the game opened up, and Kratos's bond, trust, and reliance on Atreus grew. So to did my own in a very natural way which deepened my investment. This got me thinking, how important is the difficulty you play a game on to way you perceive and and experience it? This is especially relevant in regards to reviews. Despite the obvious increase in time it would require, should reviewers at least try a game in all difficulty modes prior to scoring it? If reviews are about informing people before a potential purchase, then it seems logical to test games as thoroughly as is feasible in order to give the most informed opinion possible. What are your thoughts?

WarmFeelings

Hey Jones, A dumb fun question, will there be an emote on twitch for the forbidden vault word for the e3 stream or would it clog the stream? If not that is definitely fine.

inrainbow09

Jones! Seems my old comment wasn't posted right. But this is a Business Question. I honestly disagree with putting Spoilermode behind a paywall not because you don't need Patron-exclusive shows but because your spoilermodes generate more views than your normal content that it seems you are actively losing out on potential patrons because this specific show is now exclusive. What goes into that decision and why spoilermode specifically? If you saw your Fundraiser goals and rewards they were personal and not something anyone can just copy, which isn't the case with Spoilermode, wouldn't you say that the same tactic that worked during the fundraiser, would help get you more patrons? And lastly why don't you have Channel tags? former gametrailers, brandon jones, kyle bosman, michael huber, etc, seem like really good channel tags, that don't take up much time but anyone googling former gametrailers would have a hard time finding you guys. P.S. most other channels do this, e.g. KF vids are tagged with tim gettys etc.

Hey Brandon, do YOU think I should stop sating my curiosity concerning you, by asking (according to a few "very kind" EZA community members) offensive/disturbing/dark/etc questions? Personally, I think those are more interesting to ask someone than some fluffy "safe" questions, but I get the appeal. Do people really think that it's impossible to ask such questions and not be positive and happy irl? I know it's hard to get feelings across in written language, but why doubt everything? I actually love the EZA and if the community tries to adhere to L&R, then why attack someone in the community who never hurt anyone? I guess even after all this time I still don't get people on the internet, even in this usually nice community. Oh Jones, I obviously only know you based on GT and EZA videos, but you just seem like a great person to have a conversation with about anything. Cheerio! DiamondCrusader P.S.: Be brutally honest! I won't stop being a patron, even if you rip out my heart! <3 I swear! P.S.2: I wonder what Bloodworth thinks about my Cup of Jones comments, since he must be reading them as well ^^

Jones! Your Cup of Jones comments runneth over! But I have to dovetail or piggyback off the community showcase comment. I would do anything to see a Brandon Plays Pokemon Gold... or Silver or Crystal. They are great games and your discussions with Kyle were superb. I watched every episode back to back for a couple of days and the growth was so awesome. They were basically the pinnacle in the series in my opinion and nothing would make me happier than seeing it again!

Hi Brandon, I hope you're doing well. I would usually listen to Cup of Jones live but I'll be in my second ever session of Dungeons and Dragons with some of my colleagues, something that I was inspired to get into by Tabletop Escapades. I'm really enjoying it so far, so thank you very much! :) I was thrilled to see a Spoiler Mode for Avengers Infinity War go live on Friday, and as it was a pretty relaxed day, I decided to give it a listen while I worked. I really enjoyed it, Damiani did a great job of hosting and you all brought really interesting perspectives to the table. However, I was a little surprised when, in the discussion about what might happen in the next movie, Damiani brought up details about behind the scenes and costume photos from the set. I was surprised because to me this doesn't seem to be in keeping with the spirit of "Spoiler Mode" as a concept. The Spoiler Mode wasn't for Infinity War Part 2, it was for Part 1. I'm not trying to tell you guys off, I'm sure there are plenty of people that didn't mind at all. I just want to know if I should expect similar BTS gossip in future movie episodes, as I might have to give those episodes a miss if that's a case. Have a wonderful Tuesday, Harrison

Harrison Holt-McHale

If you haven't already, I recommend you check out Fiasconauts! EZA's free form tabletop improv show, if your looking for some uncensored, raunchy, shenanigans from the allies, that's the place to find it. It's no holds barred on that show, and each episode is one contained story so you can check out any of them without fear of not being able to follow along unlike TTE.

Hey Jones, I have always been a fan of the positivity that all of the allies conduct themselves with and the family friendly nature of the channel but sometimes i find myself wanting to see the allies in a more unfiltered type of conversation. Often in streams and shows I see Brad or Ben attempting to stop themselves from cursing or making an inappropriate joke. While I wouldn't want to see changes made across all shows i think it would be nice to have a show (possibly patron exclusive) that lets some of the allies let loose. I think it would be nice to see some of the guys just having an uncensored conversation where they could say whatever they wanted with as many colorful words as they want. I also believe this could lead to a more relaxed feel overall. Is this something that the allies would be interested in? Love and Respect, Coltan

Aloha Brandon, thanks so much for reading my Community Showcase submission. Two quick housekeeping things, I had a feeling that a few of the ships I was showing off weren't readily knowable, so I posted the ship and from what Star Wars property they were from, right below each picture in the Imgur album to make it easier. Also did you include the Bandai TIE Interceptor model, I didn't see it. Oh well, c'est la vie. I also thought I would clarify my comments on the Harry Potter ride, while I did not time it, there were certain portions of the ride that were added and/or different, which definitely made it feel like it was longer. Also caveat, I've only been to the Florida one, when it first opened. Possibly the Japanese dialog track timed in differently and they had to modify the content to adjust accordingly. Also you are so right, the Final Fantasy XR ride was just bonkers amazing. If this is where theme parks are progressing, sign me up immediately. Mahalo nui loa for all you and the Easy Allies do, and congrats on the amazing E3 funding drive. While I couldn't up my pledge, I did contribute some money to your worthy cause. Also please expect something in the mail soon. Love and Respect, Samo Rozman

Samo Rozman

When Microsoft said that this will be "their biggest E3 ever" do you think that will actually translate into a slew of exclusives? Or is it just fluff?

Hey Jones! Here's a fun question: Out of all of your predictions about RDR2, based on all of the trailers released, which one do you hope you're wrong about? It can be story, gameplay, whatever you'd like. Oh, excluding your lack of singleplayer DLC prediction, that's a given. Love and Respect!

Joseph La Russa

Heyya, Just wanted to say: After watching the Community Showcase, I feel that EZA $60k goal should be a monthly 2 hour stream of You (Jones) and Amanda reading some good story books out loud, like a chapter each. This would bring ultimate peace to my soul and I am sure more people would feel the same. Please make it happen. It could even be Patreon exclusive. Love and Respect!

Sebastian Hall

Yo Jones! I'm putting my support behind shows that are fully and forever 100% patreon exclusive. The way your youtube sub number completely dwarfs your patron number is crazy. Gotta make all those people really want it! Though I do also support showing the first episode for free, and what you have called "a sip of Jones" Hell, if possible, add more exclusives for the $1 tier! Make it too good to refuse! On the topic of youtube, the stream clip show is great. I have a suggestion that you do that, but with your produced shows. Just one video, of course. Showing off the best of the best from each show. Like a EZA demo disk, if you will. It may put eyes on shows people haven't considered before. And you could also put link that video in various site descriptions, like your main site, your patreon bio, and twitch. Obviously this would take a lot of work to make, I'm not fooling myself. Just a suggestion for your consideration.

Parasitepaladin

This seems problematic, the internet is already very fond of accusing reviewers of being paid for opinions. Advertising a sponsorship of a game in that way is destined to invite more of that criticism and bring into question the integrity of an EZA review. Although there are other gaming sites that do this, they have a much larger base and are thus able to counter balance any loss of viewers/membership due to dissenters. For a channel or site the size of EZA currently this could harm their ability to grow and reach new viewers/patrons.

WarmFeelings

Hey Jones, Before I ask this question has God of War spoilers. I really loved that God of War spoiler mode with Cory Barlog. One thing he said that's been driving me a little crazy is that Cory said that Fey was the one who made all of those markings that you use to traverse the terrain. That means she knew all the places you would go in other realms, side quests, and probably the most intriguing to me, the Valkyries' secret locations. Was there anything from this spoiler mode that changed how you looked at the game?

GenWoofles

Brandon, you'd hate where I live. Military aircraft and the distant rumble of artillery is a regular occurrence. I can speak a little about why the podcast views may have dropped when you changed thumbs. I've got used to your image, and I missed an episode because I didn't spot it in my Youtube subs. No question, keep up the good work. Your fiduciary duty has been more than met.

Kif

Not a question, but I also believe that cup of jones is getting too long. I liked it being a nice and neat 45 minutes to an hour.

Michael Brigham

I don't care for their comments either but calling for their removal entirely doesn't seem productive or emblematic of L&R. I understand the individual referenced isn't one to consistently exude L&R themselves but I struggle to accept the best solution being to expel them from this community. I don't have all the answers though; just thinking out loud.

Matt Bollenbach

In light of infinity war, what is your favorite movie from the MCU?

Lucid Ludwig

Allies, I went from not being a Patron to being a $7 a month patron. I wish I could pin point what flipped the switch for me. I think the tipping point was a mix of everyone's generosity on the fundraising stream, the Allies' sincere appreciation of it, and the commitment from everyone donors, Patrons, all Allies, to make Easy Allies the best thing it can be. I've followed Easy Allies from day one. I hope this is the next step in finally being known in the industry as Easy Allies, not the guys who used to do Game Trailers. I never followed Game Trailers so I only know you as the Allies but i know it's the total opposite for a large part of your fan base.

Freydohh

Payments are charged on the 1st of the month. So the cut off time is the last day of the month. Like in your situation, about 3% get declined in that round of processing. The charge was completed right away because it was the completion of your April pledge that should have been collected on May 1st. -Bloodworth

Easy Allies

You've said several times that to be confident in getting the studio, you have to grow to 50K naturally. In last couple of weeks you have a burst of new patrons and the biggest income grow since the launch of Easy Allies. Do you consider this a natural grows or do you need more time to figure this out?

Alexander Zyryanov

Hey Brandon, what is the cut off time to pledge or increase the pledge of the current month, i ask this because i notice that my pledge in april didnt went through rigth away, because i dint update my credit card info, and when i updated the charge was made rigth away, the first time i became a patreon the charge wasnt made until the beggining of the next month, it would be cool to have an exact date so in case we are under a goal we can up our pledge or to entice new comers knowing their pledge can mean more... L&R Luis

Where can I get the Star Wars font Easy Allies T-shirt you wore at the fundraiser?

Hello Mr. Jones, With recent movie releases & your Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer #3 review I felt the urge to ask you about "stakes" in the entertainment we consume & how people interpret them. Particularly in how most only seem to equate it to character death. What's happened in the story, the small character moments, any message that's trying to be brought to light, all these are considered moot by most if somebody doesn't die in the process. For me it's always felt like a very black & white way of thinking about it that dismisses most of a story as well as it's characters experiences rather than having to put any indepth thought into it. We have conversations & encounters with people everyday that fall into a category that we would define as having "stakes". The fact that most of these situations don't end with the death of said person doesn't & shouldn't make the experience any less meaningful. I just want more nuanced perspectives.

NowHoldOnaMinute

I am sure this has been asked, and I am sure it is a simple answer, but, how do you determine when Podcast Halftime will be each week.

Mr.V

Hey Jones! I really love the EZA series, "Don't Skip", as I really think EZA editorials are where you guys are at your prime. YAll of the allies are solid writers and really do well to critique and extrapolate the finer qualities of games. Thus, I must ask, if there is any game that you think would make for a perfect "Don't Skip", and it hasn't been done before, what would it be? L&R, Moss

I'll be a grumpy bear if I have to try and create this a third time...

Matt Bollenbach

Patreon ate my post...time to try again. During the 4/25/18 podcast, you mentioned to Kyle that you should hire a 10th Ally to cover sports games. It seemed played off for laughs but expanding to cover games (or series, or even genres) that fall within your blindspot seems like a great idea. Obviously your core audience isn't "missing" this content as there doesn't seem to be much of an outcry for it, but the more people able to get involved in our little community the better. I recall Huber reviewing MLB 17 The Show, and Blood seems to cover a lot of racing games, but outside of that there is a large gap in coverage. Although, if you're going to begin reviewing some of the annual series' (Madden, Fifa) you'd almost have to review the prior year so you have a good comparison point for the new release. You don't want your review to seem uninformed as that would do a disservice to both your current audience and the fans you're trying to reach. As I think about it, it becomes much more complicated... <b>Have the nine of you discussed how you might be able to cover some of the genres/series'/games which currently rest in the aforementioned blindspot?</b> Obviously you've talked about the challenges and hurdles involved with hiring someone. I would guess time and interest for the nine of you are the largest two barriers...you also want everyone to enjoy their work and take pride what they're creating so it doesn't seem covering them arbitrarily would be a good idea either, as uninformed opinions would serve to anger passionate fans and bore current patrons. That said, <b>do you believe there is content could you create that would be good at both a) engaging the new audience you're attempting to reach </b>(in this case, the fans of games in the aforementioned blindspot)<b> and b) being entertaining for your current audience without hiring someone?</b> Sorry this got so long winded, thanks for reading L&amp;R matt b

Matt Bollenbach

Top tens are not going to be patreon-exclusive, we have to share them with all the non-patron filth... Blergh! Ugh!

mikkel hervel nemmøe

Hi Brandon Thank you for reading my question. This is my first time being a patron on Patreon and it is my first time I every posted on anything on Patreon. I was a little nervous when posting such comment since I never post any type of comment in much of any social media stuff. So it felt very surreal when you read out my question on Cup of Jones. It was a very detail answer to the question I had and I never knew that thumbnail for podcast would cause the viewership to go down. That was an unexpected problem. Well, thank you again for answering to my question. I look forward to posting more question and comment for you to respond to. Tiffany

Will we get a spoiler cast of the telltale Batman game(s)? If not, I would love to hear your opinion about it. And how would you rank it against other Batman stories? (Dark Knight Trilogy, Arkham Games, Animated, Tim Burton, Frank Miller, etc.) It's hard for me to rank it, but I can say that the words "You're a killer" "I wasn't until I met you" really stuck with me. At first I was skeptical about the game's approach to those characters, but in the end, it may be my favorite iteration. I really do have a lot to say, but I don't want to write a book. (It's your choice to talk about spoilers on Cup of Jones, or not) P.S. I hated Batman Ninja. It was boring, stupid, annoying Joker voice and argh. Well, at least it was pretty.

NotYourMom

Seems like I need to comment to stop my post from disappearing...

Hi Brandon! Massive congratulations on the recent increase in EZA support here on Patreon! My question is about Trailer Jones, which I’m excited to see start up again in its revamped format. Have you considered dedicating certain episodes of Trailer Jones entirely to a single game which will be released around the time the episode goes live, where you look back at the game's marketing campaign as a whole rather than specific trailers in isolation? There is so much thought put into how triple-A games are presented, with carefully planned strategies running from announcement to release, and I think could have lots of interesting discussion over and above focusing on a single trailer from a single point in the campaign. Of course you could still discuss the game's main trailers, and could even structure the discussion around a handful of the most important ones (e.g. announcement, main story reveal, release), but you could also talk about how they fit in with the game's overall marketing strategy: Was the game announced at a good time, or was it lost among bigger announcements? How did the marketing help build and manage hype in the lead-up to the game? Were there preview events and how did they change people's perceptions of the game? Were periods of radio silence from the developers exciting or concerning? What about the release date? And final-stage marketing from developers talking to YouTube journalists and influencers (thinking of Cory Barlog who seems to have been the busiest man in the world these last few weeks!) etc. Doing this may also allow you to make the most of the potential surge in traffic coming through EZA from people inhaling all the content they can find about the current zeitgeist game! Thanks for all you guys do and keep up the good work! Pete

Hi Brandon, I can't remember if you wanted to have Top 10 as a Patreon exclusive but I think you should consider to give Top 10s for free. My channel is extremely small but it gained some momentum after uploading Top 10 videos. This is just a small thought I had but of course it's up to you.

Sebastian

Hey Jones! No real question this week, I just wanted to strongly endorse the fact that you should check out Taskmaster. It's a UK comedy game show that's been running for a few years that recently starting airing an American adaptation on Comedy Central. While it's a lot more fast paced and shorter than the UK version, I still think it's a great show, and something I think would really suit your comedic tastes. Don't worry about reading this out if it seems out of place, just really wanted to let you know you should check out Taskmaster. L&amp;R

Alex McMillan

Hi Jones, Quick question! When building an awesome community like the one you have, at what point do you pluck out some unwanted apples and take your loss? Even when someone appears to be a Diamond in the rough, do you think it’s still valuable to put on your Crusader hat and, you know, just get rid of them?

The Hashtagonist

Hey Brandon, Is there any chance you could edit out the start of the stream where we are waiting for it to start?

Patreon has tags on the left hand side that the allies use. Usually the description says patreon only if it is,

Ibrahim Sozer

Can you rank the Star Wars movies and give a bit of reasoning for your order? Also, where do you think Solo might rank? On the topic of best cartoons you mentioned when talking about Avatar, I absolutely love it and it’s one of my favourite shows of all time. But in my mind a case can be made for the golden age of The Simpsons being not only the best cartoon of all time but some of or possibly the best pieces of television ever created. Don’t get me wrong I’m not stating it is, it’s just something I thought about.

Kian Jahromi

[[My question wasn't answered last week, not sure if it just got lost, had already been answered or you simply didn't want to answer it but I'll post it again just in case - L&amp;R]] Hi there Jones, would you consider adding some kind of identifier for Patreon exclusive videos in the future? Something like '[PATREON ONLY]' written in the title of the Patreon post perhaps. At the moment it's easy to keep up with just Cup of Jones being exclusive but as more shows are added as initiatives I worry about losing track of these shows that won't appear in my YouTube subscription feed. At the moment I just look out for the email to come through of a new Cup of Jones episode then follow the link, open the video in YouTube and then add the video to my Watch Later list. Anything to help myself and others take notice of these future exclusive videos would be much appreciated and beneficial all round. Love and Respect.

Hey Jones, you talked about learning to be more articulate as a musical theater major. So, do you have any tips for becoming a better speaker, not necessarily just for performance, but for regular conversations? I have a tendency to slur my words so people cannot understand what I say. I've noticed that you have a knack for speaking clearly while speaking fast. Is that just a result of years of practice, or do you have any special techniques to share? Thanks!

Hey Jones, You guys have talked about needing to do more collabs this year with other channels so I'm curious why a collab with Funhaus hasn't happened yet? From the outside looking in at least, this seems like a no-brainer with Elyse working there, Don working with both Funhaus and EZA, and even Ian's roommate working at Funhaus. As a big fan of both you guys, I'd really love to see you collab with them someday.

HeavenlyR

Apparently doing this will help protect my post. Not that it helped last time &gt;

Sarah Wampler

So I tried to post this last week but it looks like Patreon ate it :( Last year after E3 I did a round up of all the suggestions you indicated interest in until then. In light of your recent successes I thought it would be useful to go back and pull from just after last E3 until now. Because Patreon is a fickle mistress and already ate my attempts to format this sensibly in this text box once I'm not doing that again so here's a google doc with the list. <a href="http://bit.ly/2HDLc4I" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://bit.ly/2HDLc4I</a> Hope it helps and if people can help me keep this alive I would really appreciate it. This takes a while to make and I'd like it if Jones could actually use it

Sarah Wampler

Hey Jones, recently became a patron in April and then upped my pledge after your guys really successful fundraising stream. After watching a few cup of jones episodes I saw that you were really big into the outdoors and national parks. So I was wondering how many you've been to and what your top three favorites are. I personally have been to 17 and counting my top three so far have been Olympic, Zion and Acadia! Keep up the great work my dude!

Brice Hornsby

Hi Brandon, Congratulations on the excellent fundraising result, and the positive impact it has had. Love the idea of the Mega Sponsor, and the new tiers are working exceptionally well on Patreon. Any consideration to adding a tier called 'Ezy Allies Partner'. This partner could sponsor every video on the channel. E.g, this video is proudly sponsored by 'God of War' at the start of each clip. This may assist with getting a major contributor long term, or in the example of 'God of War' for the launch month of a product. I'm thinking $5k a month. L&amp;R Skender Yashari

It's fixed now. It's a weird issue with YouTube streams.

klastical

Hey Jones, Apologies about my grammar in my question last week, even though I checked a couple of times what I typed my dyslexia still managed to make a sentence make no sense at all. You’ve had 2 Twitch group streams over the past year where the main push has been a “drive” of some kind. Back in Sep 2017 it was for patrons and April 2018 it was for stuff for E3. The stuff for E3 drive gave you 5 times as many patrons as the patron drive (even though this wasn’t the main purpose of it) and the group seem to be riding off the high it gave to everyone involved. What do you think changed between the drive in Sept 2017 and the drive in April 2018? Was it learning from the previous one and improving/iterating? Should we expect more “drives” like this in the future as it seems to have a positive effect on Easy Allies as a whole?

Owen D-J

The first few minutes of the stream are cut off :( Can anyone fill me in on what Jones said before the archive started?

Do you or do the other allies have tattoos?

Sekiro505

Hello Jones! Thanks for the reply. Really quick before I go the other question. As a reference point. I really liked the placement of everything on the screen from Bloods recent Metal Gear stream. Quick question how many exclusive shows would you guys like to have? Is there a limit in mind? L&amp;R

Sekiro505

Man it's annoying coming in late and wanting to watch from the beginning and YouTube hasn't updated from the beginning yet :( Another reason to keep it under 2 hours I guess :)

Benny Samuelsson

Patreon only shows are the tipping point that has brought me back in to the fold! +1 for Patreon only shows.

Barnstar

Thank you as always for your honesty Jones

Hey Mr. Jones! Before I get into my question, my P.S. about taking one sip was in response to your statement how someone opens a can or bottle of soda, takes one sip, and then leaves it. The nature of leaving a conversation week to week is just a different way to communicate with the workload EZA has don't ya think? SPEAKING OF WORKLOAD SEGUE!!!: How does EZA keep up with all of the content and posts that need to be put out without forgetting something? In light of the fantastic boost in the Patreon numbers, is there a one-stop area like a calendar or google doc the Allies use, or is there more reliance upon one another to remember to constantly get posts out now that you have ten shows, four podcasts, reviews, streams, and Patreon exclusives Cup of Jones, the Community Showcase and the monthly Q&amp;A? Regardless, thanks as always for taking my question! Have a wonderful day and Cheers! P.S. (Again): Thanks for remembering our meeting at Kinda Funny Live. Fun Fact: It's been almost a year by about three weeks. How time flies.

Hi Brandon! I was wondering if you would consider putting all of your podcasts on Spotify? The reason I'm asking is because Spotify on the PS4 can play podcast in the background while playing a game with headphones on. If I'm grinding in a game, I love to listen to your podcasts! There are many good gaming podcasts on Spotify now, such as kindafunnygames, bombcast, what's good games and such, but sadly none from my favorite podcasters: you guys! L&amp;R!

Almost $46k. Didn't quite recuperate all the failed payments. Are the Allies considering a $48k goal down the road? It may help make the goal to $50k easier to reach, especially given the success with the added goals recently implemented. Perhaps another one-shot goal in the vein of Box Peek?
