2018-02-18 10:59:11 +0000 UTCCharge blade/impact phials do quite a bit of KO damage as well on top of being able to break/sever most body parts so they are probably next on the list for headshots if there's no hammer

2018-02-16 16:18:42 +0000 UTCIf you're targeting the head in MHW you're doing it right! Hammers do blunt damage and enough blunt damage can KO and exhaust monsters. The hammers are most effective for KOing, the hunting horns are most effectife for exhausting. There are other ways to deal blunt damage to monsters (like some kinsects for example) but nothing beats the hammer. I consider myself a noob as well though :D
