Anyway, I love the video submission in this one. It's weird in a completely unexpected way, and the first time I saw it I stared for a second after the video ended, shrugged my shoulders, and said "Okay that one's in for sure."

2018-07-12 19:00:49 +0000 UTCI think that blurring the line between satirical role-playing (combined with hilariously grotesque bits) and links to the "real" allies (and their actual ideas) is exactly what makes this format unique and great. If they went all-in with the role-playing, the show would lose much of its charm: never knowing for sure whether an opinion is actually just uttered "in character" or not is half of the fun, and I think they deliberately play on this (and expectations in general) to constantly keep us guessing. It's like a well done poem that plays with the very ambiguity between figurative and literal ways of interpretation. I like it. Way better than an all-out spoof that strives for consistency of presentation over quirkiness of meaning.

I actually think one problem with this series is that from the intro you seem to be playing characters as these dumb douche-bag investors, but then you just call each other by your own names and its not really consistent. I would prefer if you all wore suits and made up more detailed characters for each of you to play to distance the things you are saying from your actual ideas and opinions.
