I also think it's important that even although you can buy cars that are more powerful, you don't necessarily buy an advantage because most of the competitions and races have parameters that limit what cars can be used. That levels the playing field and prevents someone jumping into a race with a massively overpowered vehicle.

The only think I can think of is that those were the figures for sales in NA. Worldwide sales for Fifa 17 were over 15 million.

Fun game, but Fifa 17 sold over 10 million copies on PS4, so it's not even close to those 3 million you said. Still fun, but not at all accurate...

"How many characters will there be to select from at the start of the game?" Overcooked 2 has 5 extra characters you get for preordering by the way, which could skew the bet as technically you can select from the preorder characters at the start of the game at launch.

I love watching them react to Dungeon Fighter Online. I played it for a short time around the NA launch, but I thought the game went under at some point to be honest. The mechanics were very fun, especially the Grappler Class, but I remember early on there were problems with community interaction that I guess they fixed at some point if it is doing this well now.

i will say don't forget domestic the 360 from a quick glance seemed to be almost double in the us even the xbox one is not far behind the ps4 in the us but global/europe playstation destroys

Correction for Jones specifically... It is a little strange that he pinpoints the 360 as the system to beat from last gen when the PS3 outsold it, isn't it? I understand the perception, as the 360 had such a strong first half, but it is important to remember that Microsoft essentially abandoned the 360 in the last few years, with only a few token releases, while Sony was killing it in the last few years.

(Correction, maybe?) The next Monster Hunter game that's coming to Switch is Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, coming August 28th. It is obviously not a sequel to Monster Hunter: World. This was probably what Damiani was referring to during the discussion of Switch's software sales

This is a tough one for me. I would never want to support antisemitism, or use language that denigrates any race or people. "Shyster" however, does have a proper definition, one that has nothing to do with antisemitism, and as you rightly point out did not start out antisemtic. It was clearly not used in an antisemitic fashion... "Shyster" being considered antisemitic seems to be a less common edge case for the word. Perhaps that is changing, but if reasonable people stop using it in its general form, it will surely become nothing but another aggressive slur when only deplorable racists are allowed to use it. In such cases I feel context is important and we shouldn't be required to censor all uses of it. If you check the racial slur database, you'll find all kinds of words and phrases that are used as slurs... but only in context (<a href="http://www.rsdb.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.rsdb.org/</a> ). Apparently "bee-keeper" is used as a racial slur against Afgan people. It is idiotic in that context, and yet I'd argue is still perfectly acceptable when used to describe someone who... well... keeps bees. UPDATE: Additional research seems to indicate a lot of confusion on this word. It seems like the antisemitic connotation might have developed due to the similar sound to the infamous character "Shylock" from Shakespeare's the merchant of Venice. Based on the furor this word can cause, I am wondering if the different views on it are regional somehow? I am from the west coast of Canada and had never heard that the word had any antisemitic connotation.

I mentioned this last year and I am disappointed that I have to bring it up again, but please do not use the word shyster. While it did not originate as a slur it is used as one in regards to Jewish people, of which I am one. Please stop.

I love hearing about sales numbers. I know they don't necessarily indicate quality, but it's fun to hear about what the industry was compared to what it is now. Love the predictions on the future on the PS4 sales as well. Great podcast guys!
