Comments

Hottake: Regarding the stigma for major developers using early access; I think cynicism is justifiable when a developer or publisher uses early access simply as a sales and marketing route to consumers and subverting the intended purpose and benefit to both gamer and developer. While an early access platform for smaller developers only could be offered, in a free market you will unlikely see platforms such as Steam doing so any time soon. Having said that any large developer/publisher who has a new IP or who is taking an existing property in a new direction should have the right and opportunity to user test their property through early access as long as they are transparent about the process and outcomes; i.e. they are intending to utilise early access to incorporate the audiences feedback throughout development of the game which differentiates it from the process and purpose of alpha and beta testing. In my opinion, there will come a time in the not too distant future when early access will be so saturated with games that as with all marketing, development and sales strategies its effectiveness will be greatly reduced. I would die for a Ben/Blood/Huber Spoiler Mode on Fire Emblem, specifically Awakening. I’ve gotten to share it with my typically non-gaming girlfriend, and it has been wonderful, I’d love to hear the Allies get deep into it

I never knew about the Rogue Warrior rap, but Ben has enlightened me.

I tried Warframe again a few months back and it still feels like a grind then wait for crafting timers.

I know this isn't the EZA Podcast, but here's 2 corrections: in Caught in a Frame Trap, the first quote (referencing Rainbow Six and Gears of War) was for Stranglehold, not Prey (per the GamesRadar list). Later in the segment, the John Carpenter quote actually says "it'll blast you against the wall", not "it'll blow you against the wall". Thanks for the podcast, I really enjoyed it! :)

I love that Ben's giving Warframe a shot. If you haven't seen it, the Noclip Warframe documentary is super interesting. It gives some good insight on why Warframe was able to go from the game that Ben didn't like several years ago to one that he's able to rave about now.
