Spoiler Mode - Red Dead Redemption 2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gguwFTZf5kM

I would have loved to get each and every ally on the desk to talk about this huge game, but I’m grateful that Huber and Brad were able to gallop through this massive game to get ready to trade spoilers. We talked for almost three hours, and even after all that time I still thought of things we should have talked about when the recording stopped. We also took questions this time (from Patrons and non-Patrons) to see how that would effect the proceedings. Thank you for all of your questions/comments. I look forward to hearing what you didn’t like about the game as much as the memories that you enjoyed. It helps to evolve our opinions, and these thoughts will certainly be lingering when it comes time to pick 2018’s Game of the Year.

Spoiler Mode - Red Dead Redemption 2

This. I was shook. Fantastic haunting scene that makes Arthur's journey so beautiful at that moment in the end when he rides with purpose towards certain death to save others, he knows that he's doomed but he's no longer afraid.

Jason Walstrom

Clearly late to the party. The part that will stick with me for a long time is when you save the Army Colonel and take him to the train station. You meet up with the Sister and have a sobering, but uplifting talk with her. Arthur says (paraphrasing) "I guess I'm afraid". That leveled me.

Finished yesterday, listening now. An interesting thing I think I spotted from the comparison between high honor and low honor scenes. I think his TB is worse with high honor. Ultimately, I believe Rockstar wanted people to play high honor because the low honor impact on the events is very minimal, you still help John get out, you still kick Straus out, you still don't side with Dutch and Micah's view. As an aside, I made myself sad in the epilogue cause when he purchased Beechers Hope I thought "it'll be beautiful when it's finished, I know, I've seen it." then a split second later thought "it'll be sad when you die here, I know, I've seen it."

Jones Dutch Studio Impression!!!!! So funny!

Matt Brookbank

You also can't get the mission with Mrs. Downes in chapter 6 if you are dishonorable.

Desert

Brad, that Mary's brother mission, you fail if you don't save him, I failed a lot of times because I found that my game has the stand offs broken, I had to change the controls to complete that mission. -_-

Mega Sackman

So epic

The fact that you will also spoil some stuff thats not main campaign related, and even some stuff outside of the 100% makes me wanna not watch it, even though I've finished the game. It's a shame but hey, guess I'll have to put 20, 30 more hours into the game now :p

Named my horse Roach. Completely original idea

Rory Cunnea

Good point about it all not actually being about the money for Dutch in the end, I guess I overlooked that a little bit. That said, I still find the gameplay economy a bit broken. Since I submitted that question I was reminded horses can cost upwards of $1000, but still, my horse has only died once and I never saw the need for or wanted to buy multiple horses. Likewise, though this is a personal issue, I don't care enough about the style/color of my saddle, the little trinkets you can put on it or the weapons customization, as I rarely ever see the guns up close anyways. I also pretty much never needed to buy any provisions or ammo in the stores either. As such, after the camp was fully upgraded, all money was useless to me.

Thanks guys, really nice to hear so much thoughts about the game. One fine moment more: go check out that main building up in Colter after the epilogue.

Spoilers for Pokemon Gold and Silver below: Jones, at the end of Pokemon Gold and Silver, you get to go back through the Kanto region including all of the gym leaders.

Robert A Iglehart

Pokémon gen2 and the sequential fable games and bioshock infinite are the only games where I FREAKED OUT because you could go back to places in previous games.

Grazooka

Oh god, i did not intended to put Jones above the group (or make a parallel with Dutch) when i wrote that question. But now i'm kinda glad, because it generated one of the best bits within EZA's lore.

Gabriel Camara

I certainly had a love hate relationship with the beginning of the game. Once I started to encounter the little intricacies it had to offer I appreciated it more. I will say this though, everyone says to play this game at your own pace, however, every mission someone is yelling at you to get things done faster than what is usually possible for a first time play through. This wasn't just a one off thing. I noticed it a lot throughout the game. I wish it was a little more lenient on that. If I want to loot some bodies after a shoot out, give me a little extra time. Other than that, goty.

gamerjerome

The Morality system determines how you die. If you are dishonourable Micah shoots you in the face instead of watching the sunrise if honourable.

Plissken

Finished it recently and was an emotional mess after I finished it. I’ll probably never go back to this game again. I loved it but it was so draining that I’m very happy playing it one time and never going back.

Megan Linart

Jones, if you read this, something you talked about here just makes for another reason why you should play Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal. Also I love the length and depth of this Spoiler Mode. Any way we could get a round 2 with a new panel in a few weeks? I need to hear what all the Allies think of this game!

Spencer Pilon

I will be lucky if I can finish this game by Christmas
