Direct: After Luigi gets killed in the opening, he doesn’t appear even once throughout the whole Direct. Even when they show off the new Smashdown mode (where they show the complete character select screen before entering the battle with the selected fighters), they simply skip over Luigi when it’s his turn to enter the battle. (source GameXplain. I watched the whole Direct again and can confirm. Smashdown mode is shown just after the 18:00 minute mark in the Smash Direct video)

Walking Dead is absolutely dead to me and will never play anything related to it, cross-over or not. I want nothing to do with this, and even the best game of a genre can push players away with an addition so stupid.

2018-08-11 22:02:26 +0000 UTCCorrection: Older games like Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo still get main stage focus for fighting game event finals and still obtain decent viewership, like CEO 2018 and Combo Breaker for example. It is mostly dependent on the event running the tournaments, but you are right that companies that made/published those games don't put their own prize pots into them, those games are funded by the entrants and whether the organisers decide to put an amount towards the prize pool themselves. Still a fun podcast as ever and always respect your opinions. Thank you and love & respect.

With multiple individuals who do game reviews on the panel, this seems like a good opportunity for poignant opinions on the topic that’s other outlets don’t have. The takes on it may perhaps be predictable, but this may have been a missed opportunity. L&R.
