Mega Man 11 - Review

Comments

One thing I have learned about myself threw playing a lot of games, I don't enjoy slow down mechanics. Tried the demo and just could not get into it, I am glad to see they add stuff to make the game a little easier. Maybe one day when this goes on sale in the future I will pick it up and give it a second chance, just because I like megaman games. Hope we get an EXE game next.

Capcom makes Megaman, not Sega. Also this isn't meant to evolve the series but rather establish its footing in modern gaming, after 8 years like you said.

Dr. Dank

I reviewed the game for gamereactor.dk in Denmark and i must say i disagree with Ben about the formula. I found that I have seen most of what Mega Man 11 has to offer before. I also found the difficulty to be wildly erratic at times and I had moments where I almost threw my controller into the wall in frustration and others where i breezed through the levels. I had hoped for more innovation after 8 years, but did not find it here. Even though the gear system is good, it reminded me of gameplay elements from Mega Man X, which is not a bad thing, but I would have liked Capcom to mix things up more than they did after the long wait. I agree on the music though.

Reviews echo the music sentiment but preorders get you an alternative soundtrack so I wonder if that sentiment includes the alternative soundtrack. If so that’s disheartening.

Soul

I second this sentiment. I'm happy to see the new Mega Man getting good reviews, although I am sad about the game's music.

"Sigh" this is what'd hoped the mighty number 9 would have looked like aestheticly. This game looks excellent, which is good but this just goes to remind myself of the mistake that was mighty number 9. I suppose that it might have served as a catalyst for this game so perhaps one could say that fans win in the end.
