Fallout 76 - Hands-On Preview

Wierdly enough.. as a hard core fallout 1/2/nv-fan, the only thing I'm not particularly fond of about this game, is how they use vault boy and vault tec lore and completely destroy the series' lore by retcon-ing and 4th-wall breaking.

Its gonna sound weird, but I feel like Elder Scrolls was a much better fit to an online coop game. Not the MMORPG though (elder scrolls online), cause it demands too much time to invest. I'd love an Elder Scrolls game with coop missions and you need to have different classes to compliment each other. Fallout has always been about loneliness. And Jank. This is still janky and kinda ugly, but doesn't look that fun either.

I love me some fallout and eagerly wait every new release. I really can't get at all hyped about this though. I think it's the whole other people and no human npc thing. I want to be a lone lone wanderer, not a lone wander and his mates

Looks like we got another Mass Effect Andromeda situation brewing. ME:A is a really fun game that was destroyed by people hopping on the hate bandwagon. It wasn’t an amazing game, but it didn’t deserve nearly the amount of hate it got. And here we are again. I really hope that Bethesda Austin can take the hit and keep going, unlike what happened to BioWare Montreal. I will be buying and playing this game day one. Bethesda Game Studio games are all about exploration and the storyies shared with my friends online never involved the crafted narratives. They’re always about crazy encounters while exploring. I’m so ready to make to stories with my friends instead of just telling them about those stories.

They have to sustain the game somehow. lol

Pretty much everything about Fallout (and gaming overall) that I dislike put into one game! Hopefully this is mostly an experiment from Bethesda trying out the survival genre as it seems like it's more for fans of that genre rather than Fallout fans. Looking forward to more classic narrative Fallout experiences from them in the future

I'm with Sartre - hell is other people (in gaming). A Fallout MMO sounds like the least fun ever. Well guess I've got more time to enjoy RD2 single player then.

Fallout 4 already looked kind of groady since the engine is so old and bad and this game isn't looking any better. Was already mostly out due to not really being a survival game player and this didn't make me any more interested. Good video though, always appreciate a good preview.

Looks like a visual downgrade compared to fallout 4 which is kinda sad since it came out 3 years ago.

Not my cup of tea at all. Not because of the preview, although you could read between the lines a bit which was appreciated, but the game removes most of what I like about Fallout and replaces it with generic or even things I don‘t like. For the kind of game this will probably end up being the shooting needs to be much more on point than it seems to be. Also card packs are worrying me.

Not really a Fallout person, I don't think this will be the game to change that.. (just based on what I've seen so far). Nice preview, though!
