It's that time of the year again. Time to turn off the lights, shut the blinds, lock the doors, light a candle, put your headphones on and get SPOOKED! Halloween is upon us so let's talk about some of our favorite films that creep us out.
Some favorites include: Halloween, The Shining, The Exorcist, Psycho, Get Out, The Witch, The Conjuring, The Wailing, Scream, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 14th, The Cabin in the Woods, The Blair Witch Project, It, The Descent, The Thing, The Strangers, Insidious, Rosemary's Baby, Let the Right One In, Jaws, Alien, Poltergeist, 28 Days Later, The Fly, Hereditary.
There are so many types of horror, each with unique ways of frightening us.
What is your favorite horror film?
What is your favorite genre within horror?
Within that genre, what is the moment that stands out the most?
Sometimes horror can border on absurd, how are the most successful films able to ride that line to terrifying results?
Mood and setting are a big part of horror. Do you think there is a certain responsibility on the viewer to allow themselves to be engrossed and scared?
Horror is often associated with blood and guts, but many successful films are PG-13. What are the strengths and weaknesses of this?
