Spoiler Mode - Dragon Quest XI

This is a Spoiler Mode many hours in the making. Dragon Quest XI is a game you can spend a hundred hours or more in, easily, so I was really curious what points Ben and Brad would want to cover from such a massive adventure. The scale of DQ XI was impressive, but what keeps me playing is how alive each environment feels and how charming the characters and animation are. Hopefully many of you get the chance to finish the game and join the conversation.

It was disappointing but I understand that they did as a throwback to the first Dragon Quest. I wish it would have showed the wedding at least like Dragon Quest VIII.

I have played God of War and Spider-Man and while I love this games, Dragon Quest XI is my game of the year so far. I urge all you allies to go buy this game and show your support because Square has said that they won't release future Dragon Quest games if it doesn't reach a certain number of sales.

I'm 38' in, but I don't have much time so here are some of my thoughts. 1- I don't know if Ben got it but when Brad talked about revisiting dungeons it was about the Trials and not about visiting places during the post game story again. In the Trials you just have dungeon after dungeon and it feels kinda cheap and boring even if you just run through it. 2- I'm with Brandon about the story however I THINK the Luminary doesn't remember much when he travels through time, I was expecting him to explain things but when you see him on the World Tree he's repeating the same actions and has flashes about what happened to him in the future, after that I got the impression that he actually wasn't conscious about the time travel and just had glimpses of the future. Anyway I didn't like that the people in the future is forgotten. 3- The Mermaid is story is great because for me Lonalulu was the first time that I felt there was a deep storyline, you have fun moments before but everything was kinda generic and simple, that's the first truly complex story. I almost hated the Luminary, he reaaaally needs to talk or at least show some emotion, he doesn't hug her mother or father, he doesn't reacts to anything and honestly he's barely skilled outside of some fighting, the mark even acts in itself in most battles. Also, what happened with Pearly Gates and Quadraslash? They taught you that as the ultimate power to defeat Mordegon but after the training is never brought up again and are not even that good (Pearly is more usefull than Quadra). Anyway, the game is great tho, I just that there's many things that could have been better. Excellente job guys, really happy you did this, thx!
