lol is that korra?

Thank you for the thorough review Damiani. Really happy to see both sides of the division around this title covered in the review through the scope of your personal feelings on what you found worth going into. While some clearly would've preferred a review of Ben's beaming affection for these games that I'm sure he also would've done a great job on in his own way, I know you've been reviewing Pokemon games for a long time, and I appreciate your ability to not get completely swept up in the hype, cuteness, or nostalgia and just treat them like you're reviewing any other games of a long running series. I remember back at GT some of your Pokemon reviews being pretty spoiler heavy, but this time I think you did a fine job avoiding the big ones for newcomers. I'm happy to see you cover the ability to refight gym leaders in the post game, while avoiding the other surprises, as I've seen lots of other outlets only mention the Master Trainers. I know we're still probably an entire year away from it, and lots would come down to scheduling of how busy you end up at the time of release, but I'd love to see you also review Pokemon 2019 when the time comes. It would be fun to bounce your thoughts on these games directly against your thoughts on those. Other allies can always stream it if they want, maybe even fall in for a Spoiler Mode to assemble even more detailed thoughts on it, but for the review itself I hope you're able to lend your thoughts again. Thanks again Damiani. While I'm sure you'll get some backlash for awhile from people who love these games for what they're doing right now, I bet this review will age very well over time alongside your past and hopefully future Pokemon reviews.

Is a touch screen option available for tossing a ball?

I see your points but you also have to take into consideration that a lot of people (like Huber, myself and many others) have eagerly awaited for Pokemon to make the leap from handhelds to home consoles. And even knowing there's a "full fledged canon" release coming next year, this being it's big entrance can be a little underwhelming

I liked most of the review but the fact Damiani's asking for innovation in a game that's been presented as pure nostalgia and oriented for casual players (or lapsed fans), seems weird to me. Still I would have given the same rating, I'm having tons of fun with it, and I appreciate the animations in combat, cutscenes and the capture mechanic which seem easier at first but then becomes its own challenge. It's pure fan service, not supposed to renew the Pokemon franchise, and it does that very well.
