I am one of those people who is stingy about using Steam and only Steam. I have a lot of friends on Steam that I talk to while playing games, and the overlay makes it easier to do so. There are already cheaper games on GoG and I never go there to buy them. In fact, I have actually avoided some games because they were not offered on Steam. So far it has usually EA games on Origin (I'm glad I missed Andromeda), but if there is a killer app I want on PC then I'll go through the store that it is sold on.

Correction: The games on the Epic Game Store won't be cheaper to the consumer. When a publisher signs distribution contracts with distributors (which includes the likes of Amazon, Walmart, Target, Steam and the Epic Game Store), there is a clause in the contracts that fixes the final price to make sure none of the distributor can undercut the others (not even the publisher himself when he happens to have a store (such as Playstation). This is the reason why games cost the same when you buy them say on the Playstation Store or at Gamestop. Publishing digital games costs less than physical version so without those clauses, digital games would be cheaper and the other distributors would feel cheated.

My entire library lives in Steam. Not only my Steam-Purchased games, but my HumbleBundle DRM-Free games have been added as "Non-Steam Games." Not only are all of my modern games launch-able through Steam or Big Picture Mode, with any of my controllers, but even my Emulated games, and Virtual Systems like Windows 3 (Myst), are one click away from launching via their respective Emulator through the use of the Target field in the built-in properties for Non-Steam Games. I've added many Custom Images to my Steam Grid View for both Steam games and otherwise from steamgriddb. Steam Grid View, Custom Images, and Non-Steam Games all work very well in unison with one of the still newer features of Steam, CATEGORIES. I have over 1k Steam games and over 200 Non-Steam Games either DRM-Free, Emulated, or on CDs, and Steam Categories (especially the built-in Recents) allows me to keep tabs on what I've played recently, what I want to play next, what is emulated, and from what, or games that ask for a CD, and which games need to launch with an external program such as Destiny 2. An external application called Steam Depressurizer will generate Categories from existing Tags or Genres from your associated Games' Store Pages which can tidy up a large Steam Library. Steam is clunky and old, but it is also very robust due to its many years of activity. I encourage you all to play with these features for yourself before you trap yourself into an ecosystem that equates to a bookshelf in its current form. Hi guys, i'm new here, how can i submit a character to "recruit me"?

Alright, gonna defend Huber here. The boss he was talking about is "King K. Kutout" from the Creepy Castle level of DK64 (which happens to be the last traditional level of the game before the final boss fight). The boss is a large cardboard cutout of K.Rool that is quickly running around the perimeter of the arena and in order to defeat him you need to launch one of your Kongs in the arena's available cannons at him. As you hit him eventually he'll start losing limbs and once you knock off the head you win. However, if you miss a shot that Kong is gone for the rest of the battle. That means you can only miss five times before its game over and you have to try again from the beginning. Like standard Nintendo bosses, you have three phases: 6 hits - loss of arm 6 hits - loss of other arm 11 hits - that head is gone, baby. Anyway. Huber got far in that game. Not far enough to actually beat it and play in the wickedly awesome boxing match to end the game but props to him for grinding through anyway.

Re epic store convo: could epic make fortnite an exclusive to their store? So if apple etc. wants to keep it, they have to allow the store? Would that be financially feasible/worth the huge risk? I have no idea the answer to any of these questions

Correction: It's called "Quake Champions" not championSHIP... I've been playing it everyday for like a year at this point. Also it just recently went Free-to-play, and they are releasing a December update soon that will completely revamp the currency system to be more similar to Fortnite's Battle Pass. Hoeg's new show on his YouTube is called Virtual Legality. They are short 20-30 minute episodes on the latest gaming news. I encourage people to check it out because it is always interesting to hear the "lawyer" side of things. And, yes, Jones the creature that grabbed Luke on the Death Star was a Dianoga.

regarding the epic store. Its great that they wanna give devs a better deal but I think there in the discussion is missing some things that isn't taken into account. first Steam is on PC but its covering 3 platforms of the PC (Mac, Linux and windows). if a dev makes a game that works on all platform they sell to a broarder community then on epic store and valve is using its own money to make sture steam works on all the platforms. Second Valve has been dumping a tone of money into Proton which is a engine that will let a windows game which is not portet to Linux run on that OS. That means they take the burden away from the devs to make a game that needs to work on that platform on PC. Valve does alot of legwork. I am not saying Epic store can't do this also but if I was looking at making a game and had to choose a store to put it on there are alot of factores to look at. Proton has an official list of games that they know are supported but you can actually even if its not on the list boot up the game and try it out. my brother is a 100% linux guy and he ash found many games that actually work fine without being on the list. The steam proton community keep giving valve feedback on this and they have been expanding the list.
