Easy Allies Podcast - Recruit Me Special

We've been collecting and rejecting community-submitted recruits for months, and now it's time for them to do battle. Imagine of version of D&D with the dumbest possible rules.

Easy Allies Podcast - Recruit Me Special

Comments

Love, love LOVED this episode!! So much so that part of the way through I went back and watched the Recruit-Me sections of the podcasts so I'd know more about the pro and con arguments about each character. I'm not a gamer so I don't usually watch the whole podcast and I would definitely like to see it return though not necessarily as the opening segment. I kept forgetting to see if the character lived or died at the end and had to go back a few times. I do think the odds of surviving with the party should have been more lenient (more like 60% chance) since there would be more people to watch out for them. Can't wait to see what 2019 brings to the Allies! L&R H&K!!

Loved this and very much want recruit me to continue!

Love recruit me and love for it to continue!

I absolutely love this! PLEASE keep "Recruit Me" going, and "Fight Me" would be a hilarious title for the special!

TUNED IN FOR JOLLY WHIMSY GOT A BLOOD BATH! (LOVE IT!!!!)

Raven Perez

Recruit Me is so good! Please keep it going.

Tanner Methven

This was great and I’d love to see it continue. Thanks for the entertainment!

Very Funny! Actually I’ve never listened to the tabletop escapades, but I sure will do now! ⭐️🤟

I feel like Recruit Me hits a perfect balance between community creativity and the Allies doing what they do best. I'd love to see it return in 2019 in some way or another (Maybe in a special extended monthly segment with different rules?) because the new studio will allow for a bigger more grandiose production from more allies!.... and that just sounds like even more fun to me.

DjDeathCool

Bring back Recruit Me! Though I've loved all the pre-show segments for what they individually brought, Recruit Me is such a great source of bizarre community creativity. And I'm not just saying that because my boy Strudel became your nemesis...

James McCoy

I loved recruit me, but I’m also ready for something new. This was a good peak and I dont know if it’s going to get better than this. Afterwards it may just get repetitive. If you continue, though, I would still love it.

Kola Aina

I love Recruit Me and would love to see it come back! Possibly with different themes, such as horror, sci-fi, weird fantasy sports, etc. However, I think a new opening segment would be a refreshing change too.

Tyson Nguyen

Absolutely hilarious, please continue into next year!

Brandon Ray

I think doing recruit me for the last couple months of the year would be good, because there would be a nice build towards a holiday special like this one. Having other segments for the other 9(?) Months of the year would be super fun too. Make recruit me feel like something special

Spencer from Canada

Recruit me has been my favorite opening segment. I love listening with my wife (who doesn’t listen to the whole podcast) and then we will debate if we would let them into our party

I agree somewhat, never skipped recruit me when it was in the podcast but I do skip TTE and Fiasco and this is just another of those. If I wasn't so starved for content from the holidays I'd have skipped this too! hopefully kyle has a new segment for the podcast next year.

I'd vote for recruit me once more now that people have an idea of what they are submitting for 😉. Entertaining episode for sure and I'm sure the people who made these submissions got a kick of the allies bringing life to their characters.

I have 2 requests. 1) CONTINUE RECRUIT ME! 2) Make Jones saying "We'll get a studio, we just need more money!" from the Red Dead spoiler mode the sound bite at the end of the podcast.

Chris Brabbs

I am split on recruit me returning. It is a ton of fun, this special was a ton of fun, but I also enjoy the idea of different segments being rotated in... Ultimately I would be good with either.

I only want Recruit Me to come back in 2019 if the survivor with the spoils of this battle returns as a starter to their affiliated team for 2019 AND if instead of having a "good guy" team versus NPC "villain" team in 2019, different allies belong to each team and have to fight over recruiting or rejecting new additions, so when we get this final battle at the end of the year it can be two sides opposing one another as that would be way more entertaining to watch than Kyle going "oh wait, can't do any of this stuff, because I'm controlling these guys, and I know how all of this works". Mechanically, it could be a D20 roll where 11-20 is one team and 1-10 is the other, but each team before the dice roll takes place can attempt to add or subtract likelihood of "winning" the dice roll. So if Brad didn't want Stinkfish Peppersmear, the Halfseabass Halfwoodelf Rogue to join his team, he could punch him in his stupid fish face changing the likelihood of his team recruiting Stinkfish Peppersmear from 1-10 to 1-7 with the other team's liklihood raising from 11-20 to 8-20. This would mean recruiting would no longer be a regretfully unanimous decision and instead each team member could influence whether or not they want them in their own special flavor way. Recruits would still be able to die just the same despite always landing on one team or the other, and their likelihood of dieing would go up, as it previously did when they weren't recruited, instead for getting recruited to a team that didn't want them as it naturally makes sense the team that didn't want them would either put them in dangerous situations more or outright snuff them out themselves. Any straight 50-50 dice roll would be considered landing them on a team that wants them. Even though my example was changing the roll likelihood 3 points, I would leave it up to Kyle's discretion for the flavor of interaction with the recruit for exactly how much sway in either direction it results in. While the proposed change would place Kyle further into a DM role, with that he'd be able to incorporate more traps and third party events to mess with both teams, and if everyone died by the end of the battle Kyle would be declared the winner. Something like one trap or event per living recruit would probably be fair, as the two sides will naturally wear one another down during the fight anyways.

That lion king reference perhaps unintentionally but funny

This was awesome. Please keep doing Recruit Me!

Just finished this, Great job guys, laughing all the way through.

YES PLEASE CONTINUE RECRUIT ME INTO 2019. Holy hell, that was incredible and if we get more of an epic conclusion even with a bigger cast next year, I'm so in

Skankman

Haven't had time to get into Tabletop escapades personally but as a one off this was hilarious & incredible. Please bring back Recruit me in 2019!

I have no clue about D&D & Co. – I have never played a round – so I'm usually a bit intimidated by it, but you guys have a great entertaining and generally fun angle on it, which I really enjoy. I loved the bits in the podcast and this episode was just fun...I laughed so hard, tears of joy ran down my face. Thanks for that. Btw.: those bits made me curious, so I watched a few episodes of Tabletob Escapades and Fiasconauts, which I really enjoyed as well. And now this conclusion...the best!

Clemens Schwarz

I never would have predicted the ending of this. And as the person who submitted Merrick and Piff, I am very pleased with how this went ^_^

Interesting, but I honestly don't want recruit me to return this year. I mostly skipped it in the intros, because it was minutes of some D&D stuff, when I wanted you to get to the news already. Podcast goals were much quicker and offered me more entertainment, as I watched the whole podcast with an eye open for them. Also while I hope the tabletop escapades audience had fun with this, I personally get no enjoyment from something like this if I'm not playing myself. So I hope that next year's pre-recorded holiday special will be something different. (I do not claim to speak for anyone but myself. I might totally be in the minority here, although the view count for tabletop escapades episodes doesn't make it that likely.)

Snowcone Guy

love you guys <3
