Trials of Mana remakes a lost classic, improving it in a number of ways for new audiences. It has some rough edges, but branching classes and alternate storylines make it fun to experiment with and replay.

I actually think the opposite, playing Trials after FF7 was such a nice change of pace in their contrasts. Trials is a goofy and fun romp of an rpg, whereas FF7r was much more invested and heavy and more of an experience to get through. Both were great in my eye, but I don't think the sentiment of "Playing Trials of Mana after ff7 remake is unbearable" holds any water
