How To Not Suck at FTL (Maybe) - Easy Update

Not always the best advice from Damiani, but hopefully he at least helps people get off the ground with some basics. Something to always be aware of that wasn't covered and contributed to the defeat here is that Engine levels directly correspond to Evasion levels, which help dodge those pesky Missiles, as well as the speed your FTL Drive builds up to jump to safety, which would've been handy at the end. Damiani has always valued Shields over Engine though, even though a mix of both is best. Damiani was correct though that Cloaking adds a massive temporary Evasion Boost you can use to dodge Missiles last second, making Cloaking extremely valuable, but you also always need to have at least one point in Engines or your ship is sitting dead in the water at 0 Evasion and everything will hit it, same as if you vacate the Bridge before buying Autopilot upgrade. They could've built up and boosted Engines, boosting Evasion much earlier when they were just sitting on tons of Scrap while Damiani fished for his dream Weapon. Also, they passed up afew better Weapon choices like Ion Blast II, which fires extremely fast and is great for disrupting Shields and Systems, easily better than the Burst Laser I they landed on, which is a really trashy weapon in my opinion. With their struggle to maintain Missiles, I also would've sold the Missile Launcher entirely and replaced it with something else a ways in, but the game is all about player preference and making choices like that, so no sweat. Lastly, don't feel like the constant Pausing is just a Damiani Cheese Strat. It is legitimately how you play the game as he said.
