Some of our favorite franchises are in danger as Bloodlines 2 lets go of its Lead Writer and Forza Horizon 3 gets de-listed. After learning we’ll someday have to turn our Oculus accounts in for Facebook profiles, we have to cheer ourselves up with some jolly Nintendo Indies and an extra helping of Love & Respect.

An excellent response! Thanks for pitching in. I was about to say essentially the same thing. I've used a $45 download for another simulator as a study tool for my professional pilot job. Microsoft flight simulator is a game for people who want to play and goof around, but if you want to study aircraft operations and procedures, it's an incredibly cheap study tool. What blows me away, is that it's an absolutely gorgeous and fun to use study tool as well.

2020-08-24 16:40:53 +0000 UTCThere is a scenario where the Hitman 3 Epic exclusivity becomes a problem. Hitman 2 had ties to your Hitman installation and became more of a platform for content from both games. If they intend to carry that on, and don't facilitate a way for it to recognise your Steam installed copies of the games, that's an issue.

2020-08-22 16:58:08 +0000 UTCCorrection/clarification: the $30 plane in flight sim is third party. Most of the marketplace is 3rd party (just the premium/deluxe upgrades are from asobo/microsoft). And, as far as airplane addons go, that's the lowish end of the spectrum (the developer of that plane, Carenado, is known for developing planes that look really nice but aren't super complex systemswise). There will be others coming out later that dwarf that, e.g. over $100 for a plane or family or planes (the PMDG 737), and in those cases what you're paying for are highly realistic ("study level") systems like electrical systems, flight computers, etc. Blood's pilot friend was right: the flight sim hobby community is one that scoffs at your typical DLC markets. That's one of the fascinating things about this year's entry: there's so many from outside of the community that will try it due to gamepass (and eventually due to the console release). I wonder if 3rd party developers will be enticed to lower prices just sell more on volume to the broader gaming community because of that.
