3rd Level Spells
Binding Rhyme
Range: 30’ Duration: 1 turn
The Poet-Seer speaks a binding riddle.
One creature within range cannot cross a threshold, doorway, bridge, or river for the spell’s duration.
The target may approach the barrier but cannot pass until released.
Only one binding rhyme may affect a creature at a time.
Dream Road
Range: 60’ Duration: 1 turn
The Poet-Seer shapes a shining road of dream stuff that links two points.
Connection: The road links two locations within 60’, even across obstacles such as chasms, rivers, cliffs, or walls (up to 10’ thick).
Travel: Up to 6 man-sized creatures (or equivalent) can cross the road per round. Movement is swift and effortless. Creatures upon the road fall harmlessly to the nearest solid ground if it ends early.
Limits: The road may not cross through solid iron, lead, or enchanted barriers.
Poem of Healing
Range: 30’ Duration: Instant
A verse of renewal restores the wounded.
Choose up to 1d4 creatures within 30’; each regains 2d6 hit points.
Alternatively, focus the verse on one creature to restore 3d6+3 hit points.
Living creatures only; undead and constructs are unaffected.
Cannot restore hit points lost to poison, disease, or vitality drain.
Song of the Sleeper-King
Range: 30’ Duration: 1d6 turns
The Poet-Seer summons a dream guardian of moonlight and memory.
AC 5 [14], HD 3, hp 15, Attacks: 1 × weapon (1d8 damage), MV 120’ (40’), Morale 10.
Immune to mundane weapons.
Obeys the Poet-Seer’s spoken commands.
Vanishes if reduced to 0 hp or if the duration ends.
Only one guardian may be summoned at a time.
Veil of Forgotten Words
Range: 10’ radius around caster Duration: 1 turn
A shroud of half-forgotten speech cloaks the Poet-Seer and his allies.
All creatures in the area are difficult to notice.
Observers must save vs. spells to perceive affected creatures; on failure, they overlook or forget them unless directly confronted.
Attacking or loudly interacting with the environment ends the effect for that creature.
Mindless beings (e.g., undead) and creatures of 6+ HD are unaffected.
4th Level Spells
Dream-Mantle
Range: Touch Duration: 1 turn
The Poet-Seer cloaks himself or an ally in an aura of shimmering unreality, granting the following benefits:
Mundane Immunity: The target is completely immune to all non-magical weapons and mundane physical attacks.
Magical Resistance: Against magical weapons, spells, and supernatural attacks, the target gains a +4 bonus armor class and/or saving throws.
Dream-Shift: For the duration, the target may step through barriers of wood, cloth, or stone up to 1’ thick, as if phasing into dream.
Lament of the Moon
Range: 30’ Duration: 1d4 rounds
The Poet-Seer chants a mournful verse that overwhelms enemies.
All enemies within 30’ must save vs. spells or collapse into sorrowful weeping.
Affected creatures cannot attack or act aggressively but may defend themselves if attacked.
Creatures of 6+ HD or mindless beings are immune.
Verse of Undoing
Range: 120’ Duration: Instant
The Poet-Seer speaks a line that shatters the threads of dream and sorcery.
Ends one active spell, ritual, magical barrier, summoned entity, or dream-phenomenon within range.
If the effect was created by a caster or creature of higher level/HD, it may save vs. spells to resist.
Permanent enchantments (e.g., a cursed shrine, a bound portal) may not be destroyed, but are suppressed for 1 turn (10 minutes) instead.
Vision of Portents
Range: Touch Duration: 24 hours
The caster grants one ally a symbolic dream of the future.
Once during the spell’s duration, the ally may reroll up to three failed attack rolls, saving throws, or ability checks, keeping the second result.
At the time of casting, the referee may describe a cryptic omen or dream symbol to the ally.
Word of Release
Range: Touch Duration: Instant
The Poet-Seer speaks a word of freedom that severs bonds of magic on a living creature.
Ends one curse, charm, binding, possession, or enchantment affecting the target creature.
Effects tied to a being of higher level/HD than the Poet-Seer may save vs. spells to resist.
Does not affect broad magical zones, environmental effects, or impersonal enchantments.
Physical restraints (chains, locks, ropes) are unaffected.
