Infinity Train episode 19--The Tape Car!

HOLY SHIT ONE-ONE YOU SCARED ME. That was a masterful fake-out. Whoof. I’m still reeling from that. Well-played.
This was a really interesting episode. So the train exterior is actually the train interior, into which the train injects smaller interiors to inhabit the larger interior. That’s such a cool explanation! I’d have never thought of that! I’d thought the blasted hellscape was just the realm the train existed in, but it’s a realm the train created! I wonder where the train came from originally? Who built it, and how? Or did it spring into existence on its own? How old is it? How long has the train been running? Has it been running since before humans had trains? So many interesting questions. Tantalizing. I doubt very many of them would get answered in the one episode we have left, but I’m so fascinated by this. And we got to take a look at the creepy-as-hell working of the Tape Car! Good shit.
And we got to see MT completely break down and start lashing out, which was heartbreaking, but hopefully things are about to turn around for her. Although...hrm, no, I don’t think the moral of the story will be anything but “she’s a person who deserves real consideration and the chance at a real life of her own choosing”. This will probably be a happy ending for her, though the season may end with her simply getting her number and setting out on her journey to work through her issues.
Man, there’s only one episode left. I want to watch it so badly, I want to consume more of this story, but I also don’t want it to be over yet. God, this show is good.
Ooooooof. This one’s really hard to place. The existing top 5 is just so good, you guys. I think...The Tape Car comes in at my new #2 for season 2, between The Lucky Cat Car and The Wasteland, and my new #5 overall, between The Cat’s Car and The Past Car. Good stuff.
Up next for the liveblog is going to be the final episode of Infinity Train season 2! We’ll be doing that on Monday. Oh man am I excited for that. Streamwise, I started Alien: Isolation yesterday (you can see the playlist of that game by clicking here), and I plan to continue it tomorrow.
