2022-09-30 03:46:59 +0000 UTCHey, I'm new to *this* Patreon, but very much not new to Patreon in general. That said, I'm signed up for the miniatures of these, and don't see anything about where I'm supposed to get the models from? No links, etc? What's the process for this Patreon?

2022-09-14 00:36:37 +0000 UTCGood luck, mine ran away; at speed. Something about not being as crazy as I am wanting to make stuff like that. Mind, to be fair to them they may have taken note of my frequent frustration while make a 1/200 scale papercraft model of the Kirov class missile cruiser Peter the Great - now THAT was a lesson in patience. (this beastie: https://paper.scale-model-kits.com/products/1-200-Orel-096---Heavy-nuclear-missile-cruiser--Petr-Veliky--ORL-096.html ) Took me four months in total because like a prat, instead of buying the etched brass railings and fittings I decided to make my own. Soldering and brazing what I needed. Seriously, never again. Next time I buy the extra pieces. To be fair though, there are simpler and more fun models to be found. I just like a challenge. My wife calls it masochism, but she's wrong. I hope. Since then over the years I've built the Titanic, Victory, Cutty Sark, Endeavour, Bismark, Hood, Yamato and Akagi in wood and brass and I'm currently working on a wood based Black Pearl. Next in line are a 1/24th Lancaster (full wood frame), Sovereign of the Seas and another (better) Victory.

2022-09-14 00:19:32 +0000 UTCDude that is great dedication on the paper models. I would like my kids to get into that so as to build patience and character

2022-09-13 23:39:00 +0000 UTCOh, that's something else. I got into paper/card modelling for a few years, ended up making some of the Gundam card models that are available free in Japan. Those were quite the challenge to build but took up so much space. unfortunately they were irretrievably damaged when we moved house. Card isn't very strong and I had no idea how to pack it to keep them safe. No real loss as I still have the templates, but not sure I have the patience these days.

2022-09-13 23:05:35 +0000 UTCYou're welcome, good work should be complemented. As for my preference. Don't really have one. I signed up to MMF+ because somebody donated a Fuchikama mech (love those little guys), you posted an image earlier with a Patlabor in it - so even happier now. I had pretty much every Battlemech that was ever designed either for the tabletop or the computer game (now donated to a good friend.) Very few big stompy mechs tend to appeal. Mind, I have to say that I did take a shine to some tank like mechs that were in a tabletop game (can't remember what it was called) and some stuff like (https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/479985272759343459/ ) - will remove link if it's not allowed. But that's more the "oh cool" factor than the "I want" factor.
