Instead of being able to stake everything on Simon, he takes the pragmatic and reasonable path of buying as much time as possible before getting out of the way at the very last second in order to save what was left of humanity. Ultimately it didn't matter because Simon saved the day, but was Rossiu really wrong to make that decision?
