Vampire Batman test chapter
Added 2024-02-03 18:24:49 +0000 UTCPlot: What if Bruce Wayne was not your average human? What if he was more than that? What if he was a vampire? Day-walker Batman.
Scene 1:
Alfred let out a heavy sigh as he trudged up the stairs of Wayne Manor to head to young Master Wayne's room. It had been over a month since the attack on Thomas and Martha Wayne, the two had unfortunately lost their lives in that alley, meaning he had lost his best friends and Bruce had lost his father. The young boy had not taken it well, Alfred suspected that even if he was just a regular human boy then he wouldn't take it well.
However, Bruce was far from regular.
Even at a young age, Bruce never acted like most kids, not after the age of three anyway. He was analytical, and curious, like he was trying to make out the way the world works. He was constantly observing people. Not very emotional like other kids were supposed to be, and hardly ever cried as well. That was before he lost his parents, before the changes. Now, he was very far from regular.
Whatever attacked the Waynes that night was not a regular human, and now Bruce might have joined that creature. It wasn't easy keeping everything away from the police, but he had done so. Now, he had to deal with the changes coming from Master Bruce. The reactions to loud noises, his love for the shadows and the accidental and non-accidental damage he would cause. Not to mention his new friends and dietary requirements.
"Master Bruce," Alfred knocked on the door. "May I come in?"
"Alfred," A raspy voice came from inside the room.
"Master Bruce," Alfred gently opened the door and stepped in. A habit that he, unfortunately, developed recently was staring straight up as soon as he entered Bruce's room, partly to avoid having to look at the ground, where he was sure he'd now find the corpses of a rat or two, once Bruce had managed to get his hands on a cat. As he looked up, he could see a swarm of bats hanging from the ceiling like stalactites. And in the middle of the room, stuck to the ceiling on all fours, was Bruce Wayne, pale-skinned and with blood dripping from his lips. "Are you okay?"
"Alfred...I'm hungry," Bruce confessed reluctantly, seemingly doing his best to avoid staring at Alfred.
"Right," Alfred sighed. "Well, let's try and work out a good menu for you, Master Wayne. Do you want to come down now?"
"No," Bruce shook his head. "Stay away from me, I don't want to bite you,"
"You won't bite me, Master Wayne," Alfred said confidently.
"I want to," Bruce admitted, sounding ashamed of himself.
"Perhaps so, but you won't bite me," Alfred said, taking a step forward and staring up at him. "I know you, Master Wayne, and you don't frighten me one bit. Now, hop down here and follow me into the kitchen. It's been far too long since you left this room. Come on now," Bruce stared at him for a moment before dropping down to the floor easily enough.
"Now, Master Bruce," Alfred said, placing a hand on Bruce's shoulder and guiding him out of the room. "Hard problems require extensive thinking, now, apparently you like drinking blood, we need to work out what part of the blood you need."
"What do you mean?" Bruce asked, adopting that curious look that Alfred loved and remembered.
"What part of the blood do you need? There are four components - or parts - of blood: red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma and platelets. Blood carries things you need, like oxygen and glucose, and waste products, such as carbon dioxide, around your body." Alfred said, he continued explaining while Bruce followed after him, hanging on his every word.
Scene 2:
"We're going to need some help for this one," Gordon sighed as he looked around the crime scene. The mayor was dead in his chair with his wife missing and his kid crying downstairs, now they knew for sure that a serial killer was on the loose.
"You got anyone in mind?" One of the cops asked.
"Yeah," Gordon said, sending a text on his phone. "I got one guy coming to help."
"Who's that?" Asked Detective Bullock. Gordon was about to reply when suddenly the lights in the room turned off, the cops took a moment to realise that the room was suddenly dark. Though before any could think to even reach for the light switch, the lights turned back. Except, there was now a new addition to the room.
"Holy shit!" One cop blurted out, stepping back as they all suddenly looked at Batman who was hanging upside down from the ceiling, his cape covering his whole body.
"Gordon," He breathed out. "You summoned me?"
"What the hell, Gordon?!" Bullock demanded, he like every other cop had pulled his gun out and aimed it at the dark knight.
"Stand down!" Gordon said firmly to the cops before turning to Batman. "You told me you could help me? Is that right? Because if it is, then this is your chance. We've got a corpse here,"
"You've got two," Batman corrected him.
"Two? What do you mean?"
"There's a second," Batman growled, "under the floorboards, under the TV stand."
"And how do you know that?" Bullock demanded.
"Blood, I can sense it. Her femoral artery," Batman answered. "Her upper body is covered in it as well, all stemming from several cuts on her torso."
"And once again, how the fuck do you know that?" Bullock demanded. "You a vampire or something?"
"What gave it away?" Batman turned to him, revealing his long and incredibly sharp fangs.
