Update 1.7 (polished)

Pretty much the same update (1.7 + 1.69), with some edits. So there's no need to replay the whole game or anything. Although, if you need an excuse to go play the game again... Oh yeah, there are sooo many of sooo important changes! You should check it out!

1. Additions to the descriptions of all Abilities.

Nothing global, just added 1-2 sentences to each Ability. Mostly clarifying and drawing attention to how a particular Ability is most often used in the game. Now, figuring out what you need while distributing starting experience points should be easier. I hope so.

But I'll touch on two things in more detail. They won't be in the changelog section (so as not to bloat it too much), so I'll post it here.

Vigor.

Added a sentence to the Vigor description about changing the character's appearance to look more fit and athletic. Just one sentence. But it makes a big difference.

Okay, there have been a couple of description changes of this nature in the game so far, if the base Vigor is high enough. But they've been... well, rather vague.

So, from now on and in the future, if Vigor in the base = 5+, some descriptions of Selene's appearance will change. There will be mention of a thin line of abs. Stronger and more muscular legs and arms. That sort of thing. So if you want to play an athletically built character - that will now show up in some descriptions as well, based on a fairly high base Vigor parameter (5+).

I decided not to change the old descriptions for now. Mainly because having 5 Vigor at the beginning of the game is a very rare scenario, only available if you pick up an "easy" or "lazy" start and then invest a lot into Vigor. So let's just consider Selene "getting in shape" over time, even if her Vigor was at lvl 5 from the start. Like, from the next episode and onward.

Actually, I've been thinking about this for a long time... You can't create a bodybuilder, even if Vigor is at its max (10 lvl). But an athletically shaped woman (5+ Vigor), yes, pretty much you can. Because... Not just sexy, but fit and sexy - that's why!

And yes, this does not and will not apply to any description of Vigor checks when Insight is engaged to get through. Those things are extra effort. I'm only talking about passive descriptions, where only the base Vigor value is taken into account, not temporarily boosted to pass the check.

Willpower.

Added a direct reference to seduction resistance to the description of Willpower. Hopefully, now complaints about "that nasty NPC dared to seduce my character, and he even succeeded, so unfair, blah blah blah...". Well, anyway, I hope there will be less of that now.

So if you want to play a bit of a "movie character" who fears nothing, laughs in the face of death, and scornfully dismisses attempts to seduce her... Then Willpower is your attribute, yep. And I hope from its description it's more obvious now.

Thanks to all who voted on this matter, and made suggestions in the comments. I have tried to take them into account when making changes.

2. Bugs and corrections.

P.S. Well, with tidying up the content of the last few updates, I think it's done. However, if you find any bugs - report them, but the fixes will be in the next update. And yes, now I can fully focus on this next update (1.8). An announcement will be made in the coming days.

Comments

It's not like a very high Vigor is needed there. Lvl 3 in the base is enough. Or even lvl 1 + 2 points of Insight is enough as well. Key checking while running away from the jumpers and getting into the lake with him (end of 1.6). And yes, the situation is such that a certain physicality is needed there, the other Abilities don't fit much to cover the lack of it in this particular situation.

Good evening to you D.E.! [^-😗-^] Well, I pass quickly just to tell you that for me who discovered your game with the version 1.6, I have to say I'm very pleased that this sacred version 1.7 is now totally complete!-😁-! And probably for you too, I guess? Anyway, I've been following closely the (many) difficulties you've encountered to get this completion. It's certainly a fine example of perseverance, as well as an significant "weight gain" for the advancement of the Inner Empire. So, congratulations for that and thanks again for your excellent work D.E.; as far as I'm concerned, it's very clear that I needed an excuse like that to start (AGAIN) a new game!-😆-! But yes, it's okay: if I ever find other bugs and/or an inconsistent to the text, I'll let you know of course. Alright D.E.; I'll see you soon, and don't forget to take a little rest for yourself before tackling fierly this futur 1.8...

Lonely Wolf

Thanks for the update! My poor Selene is too weak to save Meralion after he is bitten by the jumpers and they go in the water. Is the only way to save him to have high strength/vigor?
