Will you take the red pill, or the blue pill?

The terms "red pill" and "blue pill" refer to a choice between revealing an unpleasant truth, represented by the red pill, and remaining in blissful ignorance, represented by the blue pill. The terms reference the 1999 film The Matrix.

I suppose I chose blissful ignorance!

To catch you up, I've struggled with ADHD my entire life. What's that? It means Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a treatable, neurobehavioral

Anyone can have moments of being inattentive, impulsive, or hyperactive. Adults with ADHD, however, experience these symptoms repeatedly and in a way that is severe enough to have an impact at home, at school/work, or in social situations.

Many adults with ADHD aren't aware they have it — they just know that everyday tasks can be a challenge. Adults with ADHD may find it difficult to focus and prioritize, leading to missed deadlines and forgotten meetings or social plans. The inability to control impulses can range from impatience waiting in line or driving in traffic to mood swings and outbursts of anger.

Adult ADHD symptoms may include:

Unfortunately I exhibit most of these symptoms.

I was diagnosed previously as a child, but my parents took me off of it. Which was a terrible idea, and I suffered the result by going from straight A's to Straight F's. I'm not even joking. And the kicker? My parents blamed me. So I ran away from home, and started taking care of myself as an Adult at 16, with my first job at 15.

Essentially it's been a LONG LONG LONG journey to take care of this. Especially without Health Insurance. I finally bit the bullet and went, and I'm now on a 21 day trial to see if the meds work with me. I've already experienced my first weird side affect, but I'm hoping that goes away with time...

Anyway! That's the big news! We also had to take Van Gogh to the pet hospital. He's doing Better. Best has also been having a couple of rough days.

We're all just trying to hang in there though, right? It's been a crazy year.

Anyway, thanks for reading! This is a really important journey for me, and I'm super nervous to take it. I appreciate your support and faith. <3

To reward you for reading all of this (or for scrolling), I'm happy to share that I'm painting the Knight of Pentacles tomorrow! He'll be joining Charles, Michael, and Kim as the 4th knight! I wonder who it will be?? (His name starts with a J) ;-)

Brandon thank you for sharing your story. My partner, another amazing creative soul, also has ADHD. It's a tough journey for both of us. I'm so glad you and Best have each other for support. Stay strong.

I'm so glad to hear that you are working on taking care of yourself. Both of you really depend on and need each other. it shows that you were meant to be together! Please stay on the meds as prescribed.

Richard Basen

I'm very glad you're looking to address your needs, Brandon, and I hope your current course of treatment works well for you.

I appreciate you sharing this; it couldn't have been easy baring your soul to a bunch of relative strangers. This platform gives us a unique opportunity to connect with beautiful souls who happen to be talented artists and models like you and Best. Allowing us a peek into your private lives is a gift we won't take for granted. I'm sure a lot (most?) (all?) of your contributors would love the chance to share themselves or their thoughts about your concerns with you, either publically or privately. I know I certainly would. I hope you and Best are receiving all the positive energy being sent your way.
