Early Look: Scene Study 🕯✨ + what I’m working on this week! 📝🤍

Hello everyone! :) How is your week going so far? 🧡

Here is an early look at a scene study I finished! It’s from one of my favorite period romance films called Emma ☺️ Swipe to see my reference! It’s such a sweet and funny movie, I totally recommend it if you like Pride & Prejudice or other period era films :)

I feel like I’m finally growing more comfortable drawing more than one character in a detailed scene like this! 😍 It always intimidated me before, but something that I think helped me a lot was to start with scene studies first. It’s nice that way because some of the process is simplified for you, since the color palette and the lighting etc. are already established :) I totally recommend doing a movie scene study if you want to learn a lot about lighting and incorporating multiple characters, it helps a lot!!

Anywho, earlier today I posted a new draw with me video and it’s a cozy coffee shop edition! ☕️ The video shows how I set up the light and shadow in this drawing in grayscale to make the coloring process more simple:) Make sure to check it out if you haven’t yet! ✨

This week I want to start planning for our tutorial video this month, which will be about female body types 🧡 I usually need to spend a few days gathering reference material and writing notes about the content I want to cover before the filming begins :) I’ll also be filming for this month’s studio vlog too! It’s gonna be a busy week with lots of filming and drawing hehe ☺ I’ll keep you guys updated ✨

Have a lovely day everyone!! :)

Love,

Lydia 💌
