Here’s this week’s sneak-peak of my current drawing! I’m not sure if I feel like it’s quite finished yet, I feel like there’s something that needs to be added but I haven’t figured it out yet... we’ll see what happens! 😌
This piece has been very meditative for me; not using any references, not being so strict with myself about perfect anatomy or tons of detail, and I have enjoyed it so much. Being a perfectionist and an artist has pros and cons, but sometimes I feel like I take the fun out of my process by being too obsessive. If anyone else can relate, I totally recommend creating something that acts as a “breather” for yourself! Normally when I draw I lock myself into the artist zone with music and concentration for hours, but with this piece I just played around while watching a cooking show 😄💖

Thank you so much Sarah! 💖 And that is such a great point!! I’ve never done a 1 hour study before but I love the idea of putting a time box around the process, I bet it makes the workflow really lively and non-stressful! I need to try this 😌💖💖
