Digital Sketch WIP!

Here's a rough work in progress of a new piece I'm working on! You might recognize her as the #drawthisiyourstyle piece made by @maxgrecke on Instagram; he's a super talented artist and I absolutely love his character design! Anywho, the character is supposed to be a zombie girl and since I've never drawn a zombie before I felt like this was a perfect challenge :) I find that sometimes I stick to my comfort zone when it comes to drawing, and lately I've been seeking different ways to challenge myself that will help me continue to grow. I think it's healthy to occasionally test yourself, whether it's using colors that normally cause you to struggle, drawing tricky poses, or simply drawing something new! Have you guys done anything to challenge yourselves lately? I'd love to hear about where you guys are at in your current art journey!

Thanks Sarah! πππ And yes!! Expression comfort-zones are a challenge for me too, and emotions can be so tricky to capture in a face. Iβve noticed your expressions lately are getting much more detailed though and itβs super impressive! I love the emotion in your Amazon drawing π

Never've held a pencil until I was 24, so every drawing means pushing myself π I tried to stay in my comfort zone for a while but on the second drawing I understood I'm slowly dying π€ So yeah, perfectionism is pure evil and not so easy to kill like I used to think. But this can't last forever I guess...

Right now I'm about to start school in Vis Dev so I'll probably be learning a lot outside of my comfort zone! But normally, I will try to push my self to create new things, think of a new character, or just try to draw backgrounds. ππ Anyway, looking forward to seeing the finished piece!
