Early Look: Kookaburras 🌾 + what I'm up to this week! ✨

I hope you all had a restful weekend 😌 I spent the weekend relaxing, spending time with family, and also working on some exciting things for you guys! ✨ Yesterday I filmed this month's draw with me video, which shows the coloring & rendering process of my kookaburra studies! 🌟 They were sooo much fun to study and color, and you'll get to see it all come together in the video 😌 I just need to record a voiceover & edit the footage and then it will be posted very soon! 😍
This weekend I also visited a bookstore to find a new art book to add to my collection, and I took my camera with me to film that little adventure for this month's studio vlog! 📚
The bookstore had a cozy little coffee shop inside and I sat down to work on a sketch after getting my book, and filmed that for the studio vlog as well 🌼 The book I ended up getting is The Art of Horizon Zero Dawn! I'm so excited to study it and get some inspiration 😍
It was the first time I had been to a bookstore in almost a year! It felt so refreshing and cozy 😌🍪 I'll continue filming the studio vlog this week and hopefully finish all the filming by the end of the week! 💌
In other news, right now I'm sitting in a coffee shop and going through all your comments and suggestions for this month's tutorial video, and I'll put together a poll for you guys to vote today! 😍 We've got some amazing options this month, so stay tuned and get ready to vote!!✨

The art in those kinds of books is INSANE 😅 But basically I’ll do master studies, which means drawing my own study/replica of a drawing in the book! I’ve always found that drawing a “copy” of another artwork is helpful because it gets you into the mind of the professional, to see how and why they make certain decisions with their lighting, color, texture, etc. ☺️ It’s for learning purposes only and not ever to claim as your own work obviously, but it’s so helpful! Usually art books will also have step-by-steps or descriptions of certain techniques and those are fun to follow as well 😍 I hope that makes sense!!
