Happy August! ✏️✨ A little newsletter to you + welcome to a new month! 💌✨

Hello everyone and welcome to a brand new month!! 😍✨

I’ve always felt like August is a special month because it’s the last month of summer before the season of autumn begins, and so I always feel inspired to draw some final warm summery pieces before it’s time for all the fall-themed art 🌼 The seasons often influence my art and so this month I really want to draw things that reflect the warmth & vibrancy of summer, so I made a little mood board to show you guys a few things that I want to draw & study!🪴

It’s been a while since I’ve studied some environments/landscapes, and this month I want to dive back into some studies of them! 🌾 Whenever I’ve drawn environment studies in the past, I haven’t incorporated a character into them; but this time I want to practice drawing scenes with a character involved because I feel like it adds a little story element! 🥰 So here in the mood board you can see some references I’m thinking of drawing and I want them to involve water and rocks 🏞 I think it will be a challenge, but I’m excited to learn 😌 Our next real-time process video will involve one of these environments so you guys can see the full process! ✨

I also want to draw more full-body poses to break out of my comfort zone, so you guys will be seeing more of that this month! 🙈 You probably saw a little sneak-peek of my attempt to draw a more dynamic full-body pose a couple days ago, and this is something I want to focus on more to challenge myself! ✨

I’ll be coloring the drawing this week and share the process video very soon 😌✨

Today I’m going to go visit some friends & family to spend time with them and then I’ll be working on coloring my fox studies! 🦊 While I work on them I’ll be taking some notes on what to cover in this month’s step-by-step tutorial which will be about how to draw foxes! 💌 I’m so excited because I don’t usually make tutorials about animals and I can’t wait to share all the animal tips with you guys! 🥰🌲🪵
