Happy Weekend everyone! π
Here is the full timelapse process of my painting study! βΊοΈ This drawing was such a helpful exercise because itβs rare that I study old historical artwork and I learned so much from it, especially when it came to things like value, light, folds, and shiny fabric! βοΈ
Something I focused on was making sure I took my time with the sketching phase, particularly the rendering of the shadows, light, and the line work before any coloring. I wanted to jump into the coloring phase right away, but I knew that I would probably struggle with all the values if I didnβt establish the shades in grayscale first. For more complex drawings, I love rendering everything in grayscale first because it makes the coloring process much more simple! β¨ You can watch my tutorial on how to paint from grayscale to color if youβre interested in seeing the process broken down π₯°
Anywho, I hope you guys enjoy this little timelapse!! π And have a beautiful fall day ππ
Love,
Lydia π
