Early Look: Cold weather sketch ❄️✏️✨ + what I’m up to this week + a question for you! 💌💭

Hello everyone! 🧡

It’s currently nighttime as I write this, but I wanted to show you my finished drawing and tell you what I’ve been up to! ☺️🌙

Today I went to one of my favorite coffee shops to finish up this wintery drawing and had a little drawing date ✏️

I love working in this coffee shop because it’s on a quiet street in the city with lots of sunlight, and my favorite thing to order is a latte to drink while I work 🥰🥐

I screen-recorded the full process of my wintery drawing and I’ll be posting the real-time process video for you guys this week! You’ll get to see how I rendered it and each step of the coloring process 🎞✨ Stay tuned for it! 😍

A little question for you:

This week I’ve also been filming the November studio vlog, and I’m thinking of including our very first Q&A in the video! What kinds of things would you guys like to know about if I film a Q&A?💭 It could be questions about freelance, Patreon, art, work/life balance, plants, etc! 🥰 Feel free to comment or DM me! 💌 I like the idea of doing a little Q&A so we can get to know each other more :) 🧡 It will also help me to know what currently interests you guys, which always helps me brainstorm new content ideas too! ✏️

Anywho, I hope you’re having a lovely day/night and staying safe & cozy✨ I’m currently enjoying some animal crossing before sleep ☺️🌲🍂

Love,

Lydia ☁️

I have a technical question if it's not too late: Do you keep a portable battery for your iPad? Procreate eats my battery life so fast, I get maybe an hour of drawing time before it's drained. Maybe my iPad is too old now?

Rob Elrod

I just thought of another question 🙈 ❤️ would you like to open a shop or some kind of Happy Mail on Patreon someday? ❤️ it would be so cool and I would love to have beautiful prints of your artworks :)

goldengnina

I would like to know how you use art books and which ones are your favourites?

lilygrace_draws

Hiya! I'd always wondered where you go for your reference pics and how you pick the best ones for you. Do you pick a bunch and sort of compile them into one drawing? Or do you usually find a pic you like and sort of, re-create it in your style? And do you always have your drawings planned out? Or do you wing it and use references to inspire your next piece?

Hi Lydia! I would love to know what road you took for your art journey. School or no school? Should someone go to school for art? How did you get into freelance? Thanks so much!

Hi Lydia! I would like to know how you keep yourself organized as a freelance artist? How do you organize yourself when it comes to drawings? I’m loving your sketch btw ❤️

teasmatcha

This is a weird question but I’ve always wanted to ask Ipad users how they handle the heat building up from their iPad as their completing a full painting, so maybe a few hours of work . .

Isael Rosa

I'm curious how you were able to make this your full-time career and if you have any tips/ideas for aspiring artists to do so as well.

Rachel Greaner

And also I’m wondering, do you sometimes work on a drawing and finish it and in the end don’t like it at all? Do you still post it, even though you don’t love it, or just forget about it (even though you’ve put in the hours 🙈)?

goldengnina

I’d love to know what your favourite movie is, or your favourite character, and book, if you also like to read ☺️And do you do any sports? 😍✨ ahhh and you mentioned you husband is also an artist, what does he do? ✨☺️ It’s so cool that both of you are artists 😍

goldengnina

Awwwwwww I’m so thrilled you’re doing a Q&A 😍😍

goldengnina

How do you handle art blocks? That’s the most annoying thing for me atm

Sebastian Wieser

Q&A would be great. I think it'd be a good way to know other artists' doubts, feelings, and so on. I'd like to know more about entrepreneurship for artists. You seem to work a lot, but having so much fun with it, and the places you show, where you live ... It's almost magical. So pretty. Can we get all of this too?

Would love to know what made you decide to go into art, and what/who were your main inspirations when you started?

bujiseason

Would love a Q&A session! Would love to know your thought on the filming & editing equipment and process (what you use, why - like how did you choose your camera or your mac, how did you learn to edit so nice and so on) I would also like to know how you are planning you days/weeks/months so that you can take care of your little one but still be so active on your freelance career! Your patreon is the best one I am part of, and I am happy it was also my first 😍 you provide a lot more content than some huge artists out there, and I appreciate that a lot!

mlara_artescape

I'd love some tips and tricks for apsiring freelance artists, I would love to be able to be a freelance artist but have no clue where to start (also a minor question: how do you post on instagram in good quality, my picture always get compressed when I post online)

Ohhh I have a lot of questions! I think a Q&A would be a fab idea to add in. I haven't watched all your videos yet, but I'm curious about the process/timeline you went through in making this your career, and if this is the direction you thought it would go or if you originally had other plans. Also any plans for the future!

K Chelan

I would love to know how you arrange your schedule to fit every aspect of your life as a freelance artist :)

Isabelle Algrin

The drawing looks beautiful ✨🙌🏻 My question is, how do you keep working every week, drawing new things, working for posting on Patreon and Instagram without burning out, how do you stay motivated or focused on doing everything? 💕

Devotionart

I'd love to know what you think beginners (or anyone!) should focus on first to improve their art? Since there are so many technical aspects (anatomy, lighting, color theory, etc), it's easy to get confused and overwhelmed and not know where to start or what to study first 😅

sasha

I guess one question I ask just to see the different points of view would be if going to school for art is worth the time and money, or do you believe that one can be self-taught in art?
