Not a silly question at all! 🧡 I actually do speed up these real-time process videos by a very small percentage, just to keep them at a pace that is close to my work-speed but not too slow! My gestures are usually a bit fast, but I take the longest on the refining sketch on top of that 😌 It’s so cool you’re challenging yourself with 10 minute sessions, that’s really hard to do!! Something I know for sure is that eventually your pace will get faster the more you practice and get comfortable with drawing, so you got this! 🥰 I used to spend around 13 hours on a single portrait when I started out and now I spend around 3-5! Keep up the great work and good luck!! 🧡

Hi Lydia! I was watching this video and was wondering, is this actual "real time" or is it sped up a bit? Did it actually take you three minutes to sketch the first Luna reference? I hope this isn't a silly question! I am currently doing a challenge where I sketch one face in 10 minutes (and I do three of these a day) and I really struggle to be done on time lol (but obviously, I'm just a beginner). I was just curious! 😊 Edit: maybe I should have said gesture rather than sketch, but to me it's like a sketch because it already looks so good 😅

Thank you so much for the kind words! 😍 and that’s so true!! I used to think some artists are able to draw flawlessly, but I think we all can relate to the process of making little mistakes with our art and reworking a drawing over and over! 🙈 Things definitely don’t have to be perfect on the first try and it’s okay to be messy! 🧡

The bottom left version of Luna and your OC girl from August are my two favorite drawings of yours! 🧡🧡🧡 I'm still picking up drawing. No talent, just determination haha. I still can't make two lines look the same but videos like this make me less anxious. I see how you tinker and tweak and it makes me feel ok to pick up the eraser and redraw something. Things don't have to be perfect on the first try. Thank you! ...and now back to practicing... φ（．．）

I’m so happy you enjoy these longer videos! 😍🧡 The closest alternatives to the Marker Multiply that I know about are my gesture sketch brush from my sketch pack brush set, and also a brush called Edge Control by Jingsketch which is a free download in one of his brush packs on his gumroad page! I want to eventually make a new brush set that has some close alternatives too 🥰

I really like long videos like this one, I feel like I learn so much. Do you have a free alternative to the Max Ulichney brush you recommend? I know it won't be quite the same, and I plan to get some of his brushes for christmas, but in the meantime I'd like to have an alternative to use. Thanks!! ❤️
