Happy February! 💌 A little newsletter for you + my plans for this month ✏️✨

Hello everyone & welcome to a brand new month! 😍 I hope you’re all having a lovely start to February :)

I’m currently sitting in my favorite coffee shop and I wanted to write a little newsletter-style post for you today to tell you about my plans for this month! 💌  So get cozy and keep reading because there are a few fun & important updates 🥰✨

January was a special month for me and my art because I discovered a couple things that have had an impact on my work, and one of them is a renewed love for sketching in my sketchbook :)

I hadn’t picked up a pencil or my sketchbook in soooo long, but last month I randomly felt like sketching again and I’ve discovered that it’s something I love to do to relax whenever I’m not working on a new digital piece or other content 🥰  The cool thing about it is that sketching traditionally actually refreshes my brain when I go back to drawing digitally, and it influences my work in a way :) 

Lots of you liked the idea of filming a traditional draw with me video, so I’m going to film a cozy sketchbook session for you guys this month! 🧡 I haven’t filmed one in a looong time and I like the idea of showing you guys my favorite tools and my drawing setup for traditional art, so stay tuned for that! 🥰

The other thing I discovered in January is that I feel really inspired by art nouveau, especially after visiting an art museum where I got to see a gallery of Alphonse Mucha’s work! I filmed that day in the January studio vlog which you can watch here ✨ I really want to incorporate more of an art nouveau flare into my work, so that’s something I’m going to explore this month ☺️ 

FEATURE FRIDAY UPDATE:

Our Patreon community has been growing SO MUCH, and I can’t believe how many new artists are here now!! Having such a lovely growing community of amazing artists is something that I dreamed about when I first started Patreon, and I still can’t believe where we are now 🥲 If you’ve been here for a while, you know that every Friday I share your artwork to help spread the artist support, but since Instagram limits stories and there are lots of artists here now, it’s much harder to share everyone — so I have a new plan! 

On the first Friday of each month I’ll post our Feature Friday post, and each following Friday after that I’ll refer back to that post to share your art on my stories in batches :) The good thing about working this way is that your work will be more visible now since I will be sharing artwork in smaller amounts, instead of sharing almost a hundred at one time 🙈 I hope that makes sense, and let me know if you have any questions about it! 🧡

Anywho, I’ve got some other fun plans for this month that I want to keep as a surprise for now! 🙊 💌 But I hope you guys are having an amazing day so far and I can’t wait to get started on all the new content I‘ve got planned for you guys 🥰 Let’s have a fun month!!✨
