Ariel Sketch 🐚✨ + Happy May Newsletter! 💌

Hello everyone & welcome to a new month! 🥳✨

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend so far :) It's currently a lovely sunny afternoon and I wanted to sit down and write this little monthly newsletter to you to go over some of the things that I've got planned for this month! 

Many of you know that whenever May arrives I love to spend the month drawing tons of things inspired by water & mermaids because of Mermay! I feel like there is always sooo much to learn from water-themed subject matter, so I love to use May as a time to study everything water-related :) That means designing lots of mermaid characters, painting studies of waves & water, ocean landscapes, fish, and more 🐠 I honestly feel like studying water has helped me improve movement & flow in my drawings so much, so I'm excited to learn more this month and share the process with you guys! 🥰

I'll be saving new references almost daily on my Pinterest, so here is my water-themed board if you'd like to gather some inspiration from it too! 📌

Anywho, I'm starting the month with a screencap study of Ariel and I'll start coloring her soon!! I'll be posting a process video of the whole drawing from start to finish once she's finished, so stay tuned for it :) I hope you guys like her so far!! 

In other news, my sister and I are going to go on a road trip to the ocean next weekend and we'll be staying at the beach for a few days, so I'm excited about that as well 😍 I'll be taking my camera with me and filming it for this month's studio vlog :) Filming and drawing at the beach is pretty fitting for Mermay too haha 🙈

Anywho, I'm really excited to dive into a new month with all of you!! I'm so happy you're here with me on this little art journey :)  Let's have a fun month together! 🧡
